| Hope we bin him off.
I think Escare will prove a lot of people wrong if he gets the full time gig.
Been superb IMO all year when called upon and the GF performance was the icing on the cake.

| Escare was excellent on Saturday. In the biggest game he stood up and was superb.
We have Mullen as reserve who looks very good.
In addition we already have a Grand Final winning full back in Sarge.
The club do have options re full back.

| Irrespective of his talents on the field of play Wigan are/will be a better team without him.

All sounds very commendable from the club and more than Zak deserves. But thats the decision made and all the best to him in his battle against his demons.
My concern is there is no mention of Zak taking steps to remove himself from the environment that is contributing to his problems, both in terms of geography and peer group.

| He doesn’t deserve it but fair play to Wigan for trying to help him. I’m sure Leeds tried more than once but he was beyond help.

According to that article he's going into a residential unit. Reading between the lines that's a full on rehab centre. He's also moving to Wigan.
I don't think much else could be done to get him away from his 'mates'.
He's now at his 5th RL club so It's up to him now.

Ok I wasn't aware he was moving to Wigan so thats good. I guess thinking about it he would have had no choice with his driving ban.

| What's the chances of it going tits up before the new season starts, It will be hard for him at best of times let alone Crimbo and New Years, I know what I'm on about, I haven't had a drink in 12 years and not done any drugs since 1996 but still get the odd craving now and then, Specially Crimbo and New Years, Hope it works out for him and the club

| Fair play to Wigan. They are willing to pay an extortionate amount of money for Zak to undertake professional and residential rehabilitation, which is his best chance of recovery from his addiction to alcohol. I know the RFL do fund some rehabilitation too at Sporting Chance, so hopefully they are contributing.
The easy option for Wigan would have been to keep him on and hope he sorted himself out. Or just to get rid.
As always in these cases, it’s only when he is back in society that the success of his rehabilitation can be evaluated. I sincerely hope it works out for Zak.
The only disappointment is the completely unnecessary insult aimed towards Leeds and Cas. Until his ban, he’d been the model professional at Cas (admittedly only for 9 months) and he’d had plenty of professional support and rehabilitation at Leeds too.

I know you’re joking, but I’ve said from day one (as in when his suspension was announced) that I don’t want him back.
Sounds like the best place for him is Wigan. Willing to pay for expensive rehabilitation and hopefully he’ll be away from the bad influences in his life.
Player welfare (and indeed humanity) comes above club rivalry. I hope it works out for him.

| I'm happy with this mainly because I want to see some exciting players on the pitch. If the club are happy to deal with him, I'm happy to pay to watch good players.

| With the long lay off, booze ands drugs not exactly the best diet for a sportsman, lets hope he's not lost it due to the abuse of his body.
