| If there were no problem playing the game 24 hrs before the Latics we would know by now.
The fact that the club has not said where the game is to be played shows that there is a problem over the fixture and they must still be talking to DW about it.

| If one of our games is to be moved for the second time why should we support any thing to do with the DW stadium ever again? Why should we drink his shocking ale? Why should we buy his stale and bland food? He wants us when it suits him and his precious football team.
and I will be extremely disappointed if again, the so called astute business man Ian Lenegan is made to look a laughing stock. How will he explain this move? How is he going to compensate us, the fans?
Common sense should have prevailed yesterday and we should have been the Friday 8 O'Clock game regardless of 1st choice, 2nd choice etc...

Whilst Friday night would have been the ideal scenario, why should the value of the challenge cup rights be damaged just because DW is being an a*se? You can't sell rights then take them away and give them to a rival broadcaster (which playing the game on Friday night effectively constitutes).
If the BBC want Wigan to play on Sat/Sun, then they should do so wherever they have to.

| I'm starting to think there is a chance this will be played at the DW as if it was a definitel no-go, surely an alternative venue would have been announced today?
Here's hoping anyway.

'Common sense' should have been Wigan sorting this out weeks ago, just in case this situation arised

| In today's LEP Whelan says he is happy for the tie to be played on the weekend at the DW but is only happy for it to be played on a Friday night.
That means we will have to go to a neutral venue because BBC have said they will televise the Wigan Saints game on a Saturday afternoon.

| Why not play at Lang Tree Park? On the condition that the two ends and one side goes to the Wigan fans.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

Yeh there's been talk of taking a derby fixture elsewhere in the North West for a few years now. In an unorthodox way, maybe this is the opportunity to do it. Very short notice though!

| No positive spin can be put on this, better atmosphere, marketing, on the road etc.
Its an unacceptable situation, and rightly leaves a bad taste for people.
It wont affect the playing group, but it was never going to affect them the most, the fans are the ones it affects, passing it off as a minor occasional inconvenience isnt good enough.
IL has been a revelation for Wigan, everything he has done has worked (bar the odd player and lack of announcing announcements) but the lease situation and DW's treatment of his club, is something that needs to be addressed for the long term.

| Unfortunately it's going to be played at an neutral venue unless DW accepts that this so called Twenty Four hour rule is spurious bull£#@%.
I absolutely feel for you the Wigan supporters and while some have pointed the blame at the BBC, RFL, Sky Sports etc ...
The real blame should be aimed in the direction of Dave Whelan for forcing Wigan to play at neutral venue.

Exactly, Hull never had this issue.

| Dave Whelan has come out saying he wants us to play on the saturday , bla bla bla... where have we heard that before? It is nothing but bull. There is nothing stopping him letting us play there on the saturday other than a potential back lash from the footballing media. He's simply scared of the F.A and anyone else involved with football criticising him/Wigan Ath if the pitch on Saturday isn't "perfect". If we play Saturday, and they are somehow not safe and ended up losing on sunday he would be getting it in the neck, and he's not going to take that risk.
