| I think James Graham has been the best St player this year... purely because he's not there
I've seen a few games this season, Sam has had some magic moments, but hasn't been so consistantly.
Finch has been really good apart from the last two or three games.
Pat has been out for most of the season, but has been good when he's been on.
I think one of the most consistantly good players this season has been Gaz, for Wigan at least.
Of other teams... always a pleasure to watch the Poison Dwarf, shame he'll refuse to leave Leeds, Crabtree is always one who's easy to spot on the field, I like him when he's at his best. Westwood an one of the Monaghans (can never spot the diff between Joel and Michael.. though I don't really care about the Swedish flag coloured team) has also been good.
Don't understand why Jamie Foster has been rejected at St though, apart from belonging to the wrong club, he's an excellent kicker and a fairly decent winger as well. Not Pat or Josh, but fairly decent, nonetheless.
These are the names I can figure out that could be in for the running for MoS, except Foster, been quite anonymous this year.

I know Wire fans must have massive ego's right now but that game against you a few weeks ago wasn't the be all and end all. McIlorum was poor, as were many other players. The fact that McIlorum was probably our best player in all of our big games early on in the season counts for an awful lot.

Because he's a show pony more interested in looking good and he can't defend for toffee?

| Sam's been great in patches, but he was poor in the semi and our last game against Wire and he's been dodgy at the back on more than one occasion this year. Not sure anyone's really stood out for me this season...

| Ben Westwood of the Wolfs for my money.
He's one of those players you just can't not like!
Whenever I've seen him this season he has been great.

He epitomises MOS for me as did Platt, Farrell, Scully, Peacock, Graham, Bell.... It just seems more apt to give it to someone who is a real tough nut in defence and attack and really doesn't mind mixing it either. I had it in my head that John Monie won it one year. I've obviously made that up.

| they should have an award for a forward and one for a back.
man of steel - forward
golden boots - back

| It's a shame that people are judging players based on the form of the last few games.
For most of the season we were sublime and most teams couldn't touch us.
Sam
Finch
Gaz
McIlorum
Tommy
Lima
Have all been excellent for most of the season.
We only took a dip in form after Tommy broke his leg.

you really cant see anyone at wire how sad your enjoyment of the game is so blinkered to your own team.........your missing out on a great sport
that aside I think Gaz Hock would be quite popular with other players he appears an honest pro on the pitch, and he earns his nowtiness by putting himself about and grafting.
Loathe him or loathe him though Tomkins is a boball, he had a god awful game against us a few weeks ago yet still got involved in handbags with a forward that would tear his face off for a laugh....the lad is young fair enough but he does himself no favours and rightly deserves to be unpopular its not jealousy.
Anyway I'm old school I hope Westwood gets it because he is a man of steel if he doesnt then I hope Hock gets it because he was the one player i thought would do damage in our recent battle and he did .....while the best player in the world went missing big time............

Charnley.
p.s. IMO it should be Sam, but due to the voting 'system' it probably wont be.
