| What about Paul Sculthorpe?
Maybe even Forshaw would be an outside bet.
We could bring in another fitness coach then couldn't we?

Scully would be a great shout IMO
the lads would respect him just as much as a farrall or rads.

| Quote: frankiebaby "This surprises me, as my lad is in the academy, he enjoyed the training last year under John, but he says this years training has been really good so far as it mirrors the first teams training program. And he has also mentioned that the new coaches who are in place, are very good.'"
Interesting. The version of events from one of the players as opposed to the version of events from John Pendlebury.
It's always disconcerting when a witness to an event comes forward with a bold statement, only for another witness to then appear with a completely different perspective. You never know which is more accurate, but at least this one balances the picture a little.
There are always winners and losers when sea-changes occur. For whatever reason, some old lags just can't (or won't) get on with the new bosses. In those cases, it's best for all if they move on.
If this means there's a brief vacuum after they've left, it's probably a price worth paying. The new ethos at Wigan seems to be the everyone has to sing from the same song sheet.

Sculthorpe would be a great addition, but I believe he has some sort of market research job at Saints.

| I would hope we get the best 2 coaches for the job, not just Wigan old boys for the sake of them being Wigan old boys.

| Reserve Team Coach: -
Dave Clark - Barrow Coach?
Matt Calland - Halifax Coach?
Would be seen as a foot in the door to Superleague
These 2 would be my choice with Calland the favoured one.
Maybe even Martin Hall would get a look in.

Clark maybe as he seems to keep getting the ty end of the stick @ Barrow.
Calland never, not with all the allegations about Fax last season about the team and himself.

| John Pendlebury was one 'feck off' RL forward.
He fought well above his weight.
I remember him from the early 1980's as a Wigan forward.
I also remember him being sat next to Nobby at matches over the last few seasons.
If he has 'got the boot', it's not like the way he played for the club.
Maybe he is one of those who can do it ...............but not express that, not articulate enough.

Thos roles are community coaches, doing work in schools, on camps etc. Jointly funded by Wigan, RFL and poss WLCT.
I assume as Wigan are recruiting, they are paying the lions share.
There are new community coaches positions popping up everywhere. Warrington, Rochdale and Cumbria have already advertised. The powers that be, together with the pro and semi-pro clubs understand that if RL is to be widely taught in schools, they'll have to do it themselves.

that will never happen under Madge.
Lam is nestled into life as a quiet guy rebuilding his life and career under Bennett at Saints.

| Darren Fletcher? I'm sure he was rumoured to have got the position a few weeks ago.

Aye I was the one who posted it. Maybe he was the amateur caretaker coach mentioned earlier.

| When do the reserve grade's seasons start? I would expect announcements well in advance of that.
I cant see Rads being involved given his new role nor would Deacon have the time.
So 2 new faces to be added it would seem.
