| What I always want to know (anyone played both codes?) is, is the union ball really easier to kick? They seem to be able to bang them over from half-way every day of the week, where that would be thought exceptional in league. Likewise from the touch-line. The balls don't look much different, and I gather this difference in shape and weight is marginal,

Also, although they bang on about 'play-makers' a lot, the No 10s don't actually (very often) do much play-making at all. Unlike a league 6 or 7.Try assists? More just the kicking game.

I've played both codes mate, albeit some years ago, at that time we played with the same type of rugby ball. Not sure if that applies at the elite level now.

That’s absolutely not the case. The 10 in Union is the absolute play maker. He’s like the quarter back in NFL.
He dictates everything that goes on.
If he wants the ball he gets it. If he wants the forwards to take it on he calls it.
10 is without doubt the main playmaker on the field.

I respect your opinion but we will have to disagree. Personally, I would like to see him in RL.

I wouldn’t mind seeing him at Wigan either, just don’t think he carried England in the World Cup.

yes i agree but its usually catch and pass and the ability to kick and drop goals
Look at Sexton in the world cup did nothing but catch and pass and kick goals and he is a legend in the game
My grandad has more movement in his legs than Sexton did on the pitch.
Will remain the same whilst the game is dominated by penalty goals and gives you 3 points for a drop goal

| Actually, I think you could fairly make the case that currently in Union, the 9 is becoming the most influential player. Obviously, he gets his hands on the ball more than anyone else, and players like Dupont, Aaron Smith, and Mitchell do a fair bit of play-making.

There was talk of reducing the points for a kick to try and encourage teams to go for the try more but I heard that a while back and it’s not happened.

Don't they get a bonus point or something for try scoring, therefore encouraging them to score tries as well as goals, don't know the rules but heard it mentioned about bonus point try, that could be why they have not altered the points for kicks, plus it would look more in line with league if they did, and they wouldnt want that

| Couple of things in the media.
Peet confirmed we didn’t sign a replacement for Thornley because they want to give Eckersley and Douglas more game time.
Walters also wants to play second row and Wigan have signed him as one.

They also have a proper World Cup and world wide exposure.
It’s also a game that is played world wide and not just the north of England and south east of Australia.
Rugby is the number 1 code. Not rugby league.

Walters and Junior as a paired second row partnership over the next few seasons could be absolutely phenomenal.

And despite that you spend your time hovering around league forums. What a sad individual you are.
