Definitely not. I'm sure plenty of the better prospects would choose other clubs if Wigan became known as the club who stood in the way of their players going to the NRL.

Did we stand in the way of Sutton and KPP?
Is it that wrong to just stick to a deal? Sign for 3 years, play for 3 years. Clubs can plan, player has security and then both part amicably - again like the two mentioned above.

Your suggestion works in theory but not in practice and it’s seen across sports, not just rugby league.
I do wonder if our attitude to letting players go early will shift slightly given the need for transfer fees isn’t the same as it was since the ownership change.

It's certainly does, but then it's mostly for the fees it generates. The NRL doesn't seem to suffer from it?

| Watched a YouTube video of a Riversiders meet from earlier in the week before and Rads was a guest. When asked if there would be any more surprises on the signings front, he said there might be a couple.
Sounds like things aren’t done yet (both in and out I’d imagine).

| What area do we need to improve?
I look at the squad and nothing jumps out at me.
The squad we've built for next season is exceptional.

Maybe just the depth in the backs but not much needs attention. I saw a few opposition fans pointing to the lack of depth in the backs at Wigan, as an area of concern for us in 2024. I think we’ll keep Hampshire or sign somebody to replace him and guys like Douglas and especially Eckersley are ready for the first team. I certainly wouldn’t point to us having to use Eckersley as first reserve at centre/wing as a bad thing. That lad is ready and gave Hurrell a nightmare last week in the reserves GF.

| So, London or Toulouse as potential options to loan younger players out to next year after Fev bottle it again.

| I think keeping Hampshire would be ideal to give us more cover at fullback/halfback/wing but I can't see him being happy with that role again. We can always play Keighran in the halves and bring Eckersley in. Leeming has also played halfback before.

You could well be right about that, but we've been seriously lucky (and Hampshire, unlucky) with injuries in the backs this season. Certainly after the first month or so when Hampshire was still getting up to speed.
If another SL team is interested in having him as a starter than that's fair enough, but if I were Peet I'd be going to him saying we only need one injury in the halves, fullback or even on the wing for him to come right into the reckoning, with other players maybe being reshuffled.

Not a criticism of the coaching team but I do wonder if we could benefit from bringing someone in similar to what we did with Lee Briers.
Purely guess work but I’d imagine he brought some fresh ideas especially with how we attack.

Does our attack need to improve ? Number 1 in the league by a mile.
Tommy must be doing a great job
