| Croft to Leeds being reported - personally I hope he goes. I think SL needs its biggest clubs to be as strong as they can be - if Leeds, Warrington and Hull can pick up their game and get themselves in the mix you have a very interesting competition.
As for Salford, who knows what the future holds for them.

Controversial opinion, but I'd rather have Croft than Thompson. Also & whilst I love him as player, I'd be happy to see Field mode on to accommodate Croft.
More based or recent NRL grand finals, but you can't put a price on having a top tier HB which is what Croft is in SL.

Absolutely crazy opinion if you ask me (but you're entitled to it). Why would any Wigan fan want the best player in the league in any shirt that isn't Cherry and White? Croft is good but isn't a patch on French and nowhere near as influential.

No chance i'd let Field go. He's a quality player. Has gone under the radar this season due to his injury. I think hes been outstanding the past 6 weeks.

I didn't say French?
All I'm saying is, more than often than not, it's a HB that wins you GF's. Cleary at the weekend, Green for us. Cronk turned a Roosters side with potential into a potent force.
French at 1 and Croft at 6, for me, is better than Field 1 and French at 6. Don't get me wrong, it's not a night and day kinda difference. I just think we'd have a little bit more control and structure.

This year I would agree.
The rate at which French is improving as a 6 though I think I’m comfortable with the current rota moving forward.

Just to follow on from this - looks like Salford have sent out an email to all of their new 'owners' saying they have a £300k hole to fill due to RFL funding cuts and a percentage of promised food and drink income from the stadium not materialising. Any progress re the council buying the stadium seems to have stalled through Conservative intervention.
Salford have had major financial challenges for a while but it feels like its getting to a point where it may be impossible to sustain a full time club without a wealthy backer. Thankfully most clubs in SL have them but it hardly looks a secure future with that level of reliance. The next TV deal in three years time could genuinely be make or break for the sport's full time status.

| Looking on the Cas Forum, they seem pleased with the business they have done. Anyone else seen the players they have signed? It screams, wooden spoon to me. Fev have a better side than them at this moment for me and i'd say will finish above them. (If they come up of course) Another side i am looking forward to playing in the big league again. Bet some older heads on here have some good memories of playing sides like Fev in the top league.

| yeah it was a bit of a loaded question. I only have memories of them from the 90's but an older Saints fan i work with absolutely despises them even more than us. And Bradford for some reason.
