| Quote: The Yellow Giraffe "This is completely untrue. Nobody "kicked up a stink" first and foremost. The RFL picked up on it themselves; it wasn't reported to them.
Secondly saints had absolutely no involvement whatsoever in the decision to disqualify Wigan. The entire thing was started by the RFL, investigated by them and the end decision made by them.'"
Wrong. Wire noticed it as part of their post game review and asked the question. Saints got wind of it and decided to use it to their advantage. Wire, whilst querying how it happened, didn't want to play the game. It was too last min and a hiding to nothing.
Laughable to see Saints "celebrating" the win on social. It has about as much credibility as AJ fighting a replacement brought in 2 days out.

| Quote: Stu M "Yes you could but realistically you won't. No Australian playing SOO with years left will come to any SL club. You still have to fit players under a cap and overseas ones won't count as homegrown.
Warrington have shown with Moran that having lots of money doesn't guarantee trophies but to be fair to Wigan they are recruiting smartly. They've identified forwards was a real Achilles heel and they've reacted accordingly.'"
I know it won't happen but either of those players would only count as £150k against the cap. I expect that Wigan will invest their money much better than Warrington. All the players we have signed, apart from Keighran, are non-federation trained. We will continue to promote players through our fantastic scholarship system but we are now in a position to attract big name players. It will be interesting to see what happens when our federation players come off contract.
We not only seem to be recruiting good players but at the same time we are transforming the size of our pack. The likes of Smith, French and Field should be rubbing their hands. There is no doubt, in my mind, that Waney is responsible for this.

its was saints who appealed against Warrington not wanting to play, the RFL made them play due to it, spoke to both Wigan and Warrington lads involved

I’m in a number of WhatsApp groups for various rugby clubs where the only topic of discussion is him.
The bloke is an absolute fantasist across all his social networking platforms in some attempt to promote himself and his glamorous A list lifestyle, which you can see quite clearly isn’t the case.
On a serious note though I do wonder if it affects Lukas. It’s obviously very early days for him but he is a very good prospect and his old man using him in his socials is no doubt going to cause him a bit of grief with banter in the changing rooms and abuse on the field.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| Keith Mason aside, his son Lukas is a very good solid player and one for the future.

| Just had an Australian podcast on (Triple M) and the subject of Luke Thompson came up. James Graham was one of the hosts and he spoke about the move to Wigan and how gutted he is with it, likening it to when Gary Connelly crossed the divide. You’d imagine Graham would be in the know and he certainly didn’t talk as though it wasn’t nailed on.

| LUKE THOMPSON REJECTS NRL OFFERS AND IS RETURNING TO THE SUPER LEAGUE
Via Telegraph Sport
By Michael Carayannis and Brent Read
Bulldogs enforcer Luke Thompson’s stint in the NRL is over after the prop signed a mega deal to join Wigan from 2024.
Luke Thompson’s NRL career is over with the Bulldogs prop heading back to the Super League.
Thompson will return to England after signing a mega deal to join Wigan Warriors from 2024. It is understood the deal is for four years.
Thompson had hoped to extend his time in Australia but the offer from Wigan to return home proved too difficult to reject.
Thompson’s stint in Australia was marred by injury at suspension. He played just 42 games after arriving midway through 2020 on a huge deal which made him one of the highest paid props in the game

| Everything points towards us signing Thompson. I’m not convinced but trust the judgment of Peet and once he pulls on a Wigan shirt will get my support. Hopefully he doesn’t turn out to be another Burgess.
