The difference between Saints and Wigan I guess is that the losses at the former are driven largely by big amounts of depreciation on the stadium. At Wigan they are driven by trading losses - i.e. (pre-Covid obviously) EBITDA at Wigan will be negative whereas Saints tend towards breaking even. This means Wigan will be leaking cash whereas Saints won't be.

You have to wonder why a successful businessman like Danson didn't speak to someone like Steph before investing £2.5m into the club for a 25% stake when he could have just spent 25p. How did none of his legal or financial team spot the error?

So saints losses over the last say 10 years are only through depreciation of the stadium? OK
Operating losses of over circa 700k, 500k,1.1million, 450k and 330k over the previous 5 years are based on depreciation of the stadium? (I think Rogues posted that saints had lost summat like 12million over the same period as Leneghams has owned Wigan and lost 4million)
And because colman converted those losses into shares and "effectively owns them" because they owe him circa 22million its better than Leneghan/Danson owning Wigan and being owed 6m how?

If Leneghan walks and we have no buyer were in trouble, we would certainly ly need to reduce costs in the short term.
