| Rugby league club in ground sharing shocker, they really do take the biscuit. Ten pages of bile and obsession over a nothing story.
I can't even be bothered checking but I would guess that Hull and Huddersfield have exactly the same logistical headaches as we do, it's just that ours are compounded by latics' presence in the premier league and Whelan's previous pig headedness.
At least one of those two mitigating factors won't be an issue in twelve month's time anyway, at which time that thread on the paupers' board will probably still be running.

| Have to agree with the unfounded nature of that massive thread.

nice try mate but we dont kowtow to any football club , we are quite happy with GF thanks
Didnt McManus say himself that you have borrowed 6million for its completion at "favourable rates"?
To me that is having bank debt.

Its debt to people who are involved in the governance of the club, supporters if you like, not a bank trying to make a profit, these people are well aware they are unlikely to see a return on their money, not at least for a very long time. Short of it is that it is better, much better.

| Why can we not play against at Wire at DW on friday and play say Wakey away on Monday. After all Wire for me now is a tougher game and will be the biggest game in SL next season when the top 2 sides in terms of table position collide. Fixtures for good friday should not be set in stone just as its Saints turn to host. It would sell out the Wire game and generate extra revenue for both clubs.
Saints v Wigan will sell out and the new Saints ground at any time so i see its more beneficial to all for us to stop the good friday against Saints get more income by playing Wire. Wire we usually get 19-20k so on friday it would be a sell out. That sorts any ground issue and we get the biggest SL game of that season in front of SL biggest gate of the season.

Yep. It's a lot better. And it was unavoidable as the banks stopped lending in 2008. The only way we got our ground built at all is because McManus has friends in high financial places who could lend us what was needed to complete the job.
If Saints achieve the target of 10,000 season tickets for next year (and already 8000 have been sold, as confirmed by the club today), then that is over £2 million in revenue before we have even started on the corporate events, takings from hospitality, away fans contributions, weddings, funerals, bar mitzvas, or sponsorship. At that rate it wouldn't take us very long in financial payback terms to break even with a brand new stadium that shouldn't - in theory anyway - take much maintenance.

Take a look at the pictures of the stadium covered in Pigeon crap. That aint cheap to clean off, and even less so on cladding... So, there's maintenance costs. Then when people gob chud into the bogs, break bog seats, electricity, gas, water, tax, tax, tax, and more tax.... Ya dont see much out of that £2m once overheads and maintenance have been taken out of the pot.
