I always thought it would be a great idea if we had a small Brass Section at games. Seem to remember Wire brought a couple over to the JJB when GB played Aus and it generated a great atmosphere!

C'mon all we'd need is a couple of Wigan supporters who can knock out a few tunes on the trumpet!

It would be good if the club could advertise it, and as payment they could offer them free entry...etc!

I just love the peace and quiet at the back of the east stand... I can have a little nod if i wish.... love it... i always think that Wigan Rugby fans are a little like BWFC fans... get t'ground... get thi seat... and think "Reet yer buggers i've paid mi money.....entertain me...and if yer can't..RUN YER BLOODY BLOOD T' WATTER".... Perhaps its just me... dunno.... I'll get my coat....

It would just look cheesey a load of Wiganer one day turning up to a match pretending to be Italian soccer fans. What we need is a team song, Saints have got one, Hull and Rovers have got one. Why haven't we? Something like 'Down by the Riverside' could work.

You're not the only one to notice it at the Reebok then icon_lol.gif

Always best advised to do these sorts of things independantly - the 'official singing section' at the Reebok is all a bit cringeworthy IMHO.

here's an idea why dont people start by getting off players backs and try encouraging the team when there losing or not performing instead of when we're winning in a game the stadium is deathlty quiet until we're putting points on the board

Well those that like the idea like it and those that don't don't. This isn't about anything divisive or about a clique. If people want to dip in, grand, if not, fine. No pressure. No membership. It's just about testing the water & getting some ideas. It's just that any set of supporters that gets an Ultras scene going seems to have a better experience on matchday. The effort on and off the pitch these past few years has been poor with a few notable exceptions (how much fun was Wire away last sason? and this isn't just about singing 'Greatest club in the world' for 80 minutes!). We may as well have a beano on the terraces regardless of the performance on the pitch.

And this isn't about trying to ape Italian football fans although 2 people have suggested the name 'Brigate Rosso' icon_wink.gif

Quote: ABP' "The atmposphere at home games is very, very poor.

There needs to be some sort of official ''loud section'' in the East & South stands so that those who are keen on making some noise can do so with safety of knowing those next to them will be doing too. That's the problem with having an all seater, reserved seating stadium.

It's amazing how our away followings are so vocal, enjoyable, loud and full of songs yet our home followings are almost silent...Even though the exacty same people are in attendance plus more!'"

Why did you move to the West Stand then?

Because he is a virgin.

Ive sat in all 4 stands this season and all are terrible. I suggest we put it to Mick Hogan to have a 'noisy' section next year in the east. Alternatively all just go in the south.

I went in the south for the salford cup game and I genuinely didnt see any idiots at the back

THANKFULLY that problem seems to have disapeared.

I have sat in all four stands and without question there is more noise, singing, whatever you want to call it in the south.

But what is wrong with having a few different places where people enjoy themselves with a bit of noise.

Quote: Jack Kerley "Why did you move to the West Stand then?'"

After a few years of sitting in a stand with a stale atmosphere despite sitting amongst people who do their best, it becomes pointless sitting there when I can get seat in the opposite stand with a much better view.

We would have stayed in the East, but couldn't get the same amount of seats in the same position in the East stand.
