Desperately sad news, he was Wigan through and through, always enjoyed watching him play. Wore his heart on his sleeve and was obviously a nice guy too.

Thoughts are with his family and friends.

I dont know if this has been said but would be nice if players from both sides warmed up in t-shirts with NEWTON 9 on the back

Deacon will have known terry from a very young age. They was pretty big rivals a at school boy level and played together for wigan school boys.

Deacon played for hindley and newton was at orrel and they was both the two best teams for about 3yrs.

I also played with terry at school boy level for the county.

He was solid as a rock on the pitch even at a young age but always a top lad off it.

Still in shock really, very very sad.

Thats a horrible video and Deacs is obv very very upset and its hit him very hard

I'd love to see that on a flag next season.

RIP Tezza you never got the recognition you deserved.

Think things should be left to settle for a while. At some point in the future his family should be approached to see if they would like a flag.
If they are ok with it then I think I'd have it in the present tense.
