What was Halifax's crowd the week before against Toulouse - now that was a must win game, do there fans not deserve a club, or London, Fev, Batley etc etc etc or are you to far up your ivory towers to see what's going on below you'"
I was impressed by your loud support regardless of numbers, it was a great atmosphere and Leigh were terrific in that second half.
Regardless of local rivalry I get no pleasure from seeing Leigh struggle and wish you Club all the best for the future.
The spirit show against Sheffield is a good sign.

| It was really sad to see Leigh go from superleague last season and even sadder to think they may not be back anytime soon. That rivalry between us is good and I certainly look forward to those fixtures more then I do a Huddersfield or Wakefield fixture for example.
I’ve no sympathy for Beaumont. The bloke lacks class and he always seemed the sort who’d run for the hills. I just hope there’s somebody else out there with a real passion for Leigh who has the funds to take them forward.

The fact that the Chairman had chucked the towel in, the players laboured to a scrappy win and the public couldn't be ar$ed to turn out and support their club tell everyone that they don't deserve a club at all.'"

Neither do I but believe me, if the shoe had been on the other foot this forum would be full of Leigh fans.

I'm starting to think that the reality of this Wigan and Leigh thing is that there isn't room for both in SL.
With the likes of Toronto coming on board and a possible new team in the South of France, we're starting to glimpse a potential wider-spread future. On top of that, the new-look SL will surely try to focus on quality rather than fudge things the way the RFL did with the franchise system - to create viable clubs with good cash-flow, good player development and potential big support. Leigh, as we know them, don't really tick any of those boxes.
From a Wigan perpective, we've already got our derby game in Saints. Can't see what Leigh would add to the party, other than be a useful lower league club.

It would be a disappointment if that was the case.
The game can't remain where it is, unless it's content to be a semi-professional operation.

I appreciate that you want to be in Super League. But wanting isn't enough.
We all want to be millionaires - but no one's going to give that to us, it has to be earned.
At present, Leigh are a small club, whose proximity to Wigan and St Helens isn't helping them.
What I would say, though, is don't worry too much ... there are still people in the game who think the tail should wag the dog, so I'll believe this new SL era when I actually see it.

We need all the viable potential SL clubs we can get. What happens in a few years when Salford/Huddersfield/Wakefield go bump, and Leigh aren't strong enough to replace them? We could potentially end up having to let a part time club into SL. Slippery slope from there.....

I'm not sure that the Leigh I've known all my life would be any less likely to go bump.
What we need is another Catalan Dragons.
