It's a play on the word 'ultras' - S2 (The section in the South Stand where they congregate at games). |

The Brigantes are Wigan's Ultra group, just like "The Green Brigade" are Celtic's and "The Red Faction" are Middlesborough's

The name of the ultras group is the Brigantes. At home games we are situated in block S2 in the southstand. If we had Brigantes on every flag they'd all look the same and it'd be a bit naff. Hope that clears it up |

I thought it was an advert for the new Samasung Galaxy phone; would have been a cracking example of product placement but for the intimidating Ultras name. |
