| Quote: cadoo "I do feel the need to recognise some of the achievements of some of the other coaches/players/referee's this year. Some excellent anti-Wigan bile spouted in the media & I think this needs rewarding.
Nominees as follows
There are three finalists from that list, for me, all of whom brought a new dimension to the annual contest:
John Kear (for raising whining to the level of national hysteria)
Nathan Brown (for managing to make menacing threats sound like whining)
Jamie Peacock (for having the whiniest voice)
On that basis, any of the three would be a worthy winner.

| Well deserved! I was in the minority who questioned his appointment with good reasons might I add. However, since then I have openly stated since that the club made the best decision by signing Maguire and the rest of the team. This season couldn't have gone any better with what our expectations was at the beginning, I think most would of laughed at a Grand Final appearance saying it's to soon so whether we win or lose on Saturday let's enjoy it no matter what! This year has been a great one despite what everyone else says if we don't win it. Next year though, we have to progress further as expectations will be bigger. Well done Madge and good luck in your first major final on Saturday!

| John Kear has been crowned the 2010 Whining Pillock of the year.
Congratulations to Mr Kear and a well done to all the other contenders for taking part. Their efforts have been commemorated in my signature until 2011, when we will have a fresh batch of young hopefuls vying for Mr Kear's illustrious crown.

| From watching interviews with Madge this year, you get the feeling that he has a similar attitude to preparation/training to the one that Shaun Edwards brought to Wigan. He certainly doesn't appear afraid to drop someone if they cross the line; whoever they are. Nothing is left to chance and anyone who has saw sky's feed at half time in the leeds game at the DW will agree that he isn't afraid of letting the team know when they are under-performing!
Class act and a few SL coaches could learn how to conduct themselves at press conferences from his example

| For me what's most exciting about Maguire and what he has done this season is he's made what was supposed to be a settling in and showing some signs of improvement season develop into a fantastic season with some notable highs, very few lows and a Grand final appearance. Irrespective of what happens on Saturday this season has been amazing. Next year is supposed to be the year to judge him on so what do we expect then?

A litre tin of hair-restorer. At least then he'd look less like ET.

| I said a while back that the proof of the pudding will be in the eating- I am very happy to say that the digestion is going well. Madge has certainly delivered an overall improvement this season. The reality is that it WAS a gamble by IL to bring an untried coach into the SL, putting him up against coaches with international experience. I am delighted to say that the gamble appears to have paid off- Wigan certainly looked head and shoulders above the rest of the competition throughout the rounds, in terms of fitness, gameplan and execution, and, crucially, were able to raise their game in the semi final against a Leeds team who, although at their weakest for 4 years, still had that "champion" mentality. There was always a question mark against this Wigan side in terms of "choking" on the big occasion- a question mark that imo is no longer there.
Perhaps the most pleasing aspect of all this is that Madge has done this with an inherited squad that included players that were clearly not his "type". He will have a certain style of play in mind and, quite naturally, will want to surround himself with players who can deliver in this respect. Next year looks exciting from a Wigan supporters perspective.
To bring things back down a level, we still haven't won anything yet, and there is no doubt that the competition is poorer than it has been for the last 4 years or so (especially Stains and Leeds). However, you can only play what is put in front of you, and overall I think we can safely say that Madge has done very well indeed in 2010.
