Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate

Yes, after all the adverse comments over the years about the DW from fans of other clubs, how unreasonable of Wigan fans to want to discuss the failure of Saints' (and now Wire's) stadia to stand up to winter weather... especially given the obvious safety issues... it's quite outrageous of us, really... |

I've been to the DW a few times and am quite amazed at the difference in atmosphere generated between RL and Football... I went there with my mate from Uni to watch Liverpool play there and the atmosphere was created by the Away fans in the main, but watching a Wigan v Saints game there is an unbelieveable experience. There is a certain air of electricity in the air whenever Wigan and Saints collide.

It is falling further and further behind facilities other clubs have (which I'm sure is one of the drivers behind the move of facilities to Central Park; 3G pitch etc). I've seen it up close plenty of times.
There is no doubt that Wigan are doing better than alreet in comparison with its peers in Super League however rugby league needs to up its game considerably going forward to compete with external forces.

My comment was not aimed at any club, it wasn't meant to be scoring points, it is an observation that could be aimed at any company in any business sector. For sure, Saints have been making losses for too many years, and that is an unsustainable position, for any rugby club, or any business. The new ground will hopefully increase our revenue, but unless that can be turned into profits or at least a break even position, then Saints as we know it today won't be around for much longer. |
