| I left on 58 minutes, what's the problem? Beat the traffic and got a takeaway on the way home. We was 30 points behind at the time, and im struggling to see what kind of pleasure id have gotten out of the last 22 minutes? Id more than seen enough. If you are going to have a go at anyone, have a go at the season ticket holder that don't even turn up for play off games, not people who DO turn up but leave early.

He's got a great suggestion about Friday - Let Salford Win
Quote: Grimmy "No matter which way around you play them, they will get knocked from pillar to post at Old Trafford (if we should even get there).
Just let Salford have a shot at Saints. At least they have a set of forwards that will actually get stuck in and not stand around looking shell shocked as the backs try to make metres.
Last thing we need is to allow Saints some more gloating to add to the 75-0. I cant think of anything worse than a Grand Final drubbing to Saints. I was there when Bradford took us apart in the Grand Final and its a horrible feeling.'"

Correct, they'd spill
You're in danger of damaging your whole 'Enforcer' image. It all worked perfectly before with 'stick forwards on the wing, introduce armwrestles to games, bring back Skerrett, I can lift more pints than you!' but you're wrecking it by suggesting we should have conceded the WCC and now let the opposition beat us in the Final Eliminator

Ill tell you now, if Lam had heeded my advice at the start of the season and brought Skerrett in to put some fire into our forwards, they wouldnt of been stood around like one of Lewis's whilst the Saints forwards ran past them unopposed. I warned our forwards had a soft underbelly and i have been proven right again.
I never said we should of conceded the WCC, i said we should of pulled out after we won the GF to concentrate on the season ahead and i never said we should let the opposition beat us on Friday. I was speaking as a fan, let Salford have a go, they at least have a bit of firepower in the forwards, we dont.

| What experience of coaching does Skerrett possess these days.
What has he done since his playing days? I genuinely don't know.
What I do know is that you can't expect current forwards to watch a few DVD's from the 80's and suddenly turn into a group of possessed Les Boyds smacking everything in sight, for one they wouldnt last long on the pitch (see Ben Flower for example).

Lockers "What are we doing today boss? Working on winning the collision in defence to stop the opposition getting a roll on?"
Lam "Nope"
Farrell "Moving the ball away from the ruck so we don't get caught by the markers?"
Lam "Not that either. No, today we have a Welsh international prop forward to show us how punching the opposition is the key to success in big games. Sit down Ben. Gentlemen please welcome Kelvin Skerrett!"

Geez mate you’ve outdone yourself here. Has Skerrett even been involved in the game since retirement? Whilst we’re being all nostalgic why not bring Billy Boston down to coach our wingers too? He’s only been retired 49yrs.
Pulling out the WCC is conceding the WCC. And to make such a suggestion is utterly bizarre but not as bizarre as “let Salford have a go” as though the Grand Final is a child’s toy.

Are you trying to say Skerrett was a crap forward and offered nothing but throwing punches? Was you even born when Skerrett was playing for Wigan?

Yes he has been coaching in amateur Rugby and from all accounts has done a very good job. Your, comparison of Boston is ridiculous.
Pulling out of the WCC is not conceding it. The game would of just been called off. They wouldnt of just crowned Sydney the world champions. Perhaps if we had done as i suggested we would of been better prepared for this season and not lost one of our most important players to a long term injury. Even some of our senior players themselves admitted the WCC game had been a major distraction.

It’s the same as yours, a retired legend coaching the players. See how ridiculous your suggestion is now?
Err pulling out of it is conceding it. We pull out of the final, Sydney are awarded the game ergo they’re WCC’s. It’s pretty simple.

No, Boston is obviously far to old to coach and has been retired from any kind of employment for years. Skerrett is not retired nor is he too old.
Why didnt you compare Skerrett to say Edwards? Both similar age..... Oh hang on a minute...

You've answered your own point. It's not about whether he was a good player in his day. Whether you like it or not, the game has evolved to the point it's almost unrecognisable from the early 00s, never mind the 80s. Guys like Brian Noble and Ian Millward who achieved loads as coaches at top level have been left behind because the game has changed so much. How far behind do you think the game has left Kelvin Skerrett, who played in the 80s and since then has only coached a bit at amateur level, most recently a decade ago?

Mate you’re suggestion is utterly ridiculous. 80’s/90’s/00’s props don’t exist anymore. The game is different, it’s moved on.
If you can’t see that then there’s genuinely no helping you.
