Culture is so important, excusing behaviour like this sends a message to everyone at the club and highlights how poor the culture is.

If the decision makers at the club are clever, they launch an investigation and quickly resolve this matter by terminating the contracts of Joel and Sam Tomkins for breaching their contracts by bringing the club into disrepute.

The cynic in me says that Sam is already off at the end of the season anyway and Joel is nowhere near the player he once was. Easy PR win whilst saving some money on the books and not significantly reducing the quality of the team.

You are of course right but I would go further. If the club knew about this I would be disgusted that they haven't already taken the only course of action available to them.

But they might not have seen the video though. They may have heard about it. If the girl had sent the video to the club and they REALLY wanted to sweep it under the carpet they would have paid her to delete it im sure. That's what i would do and pretty sure the club would have thought of that if they knew and wanted to hide it. If nobody had seen the video then this put's a completely different spin on it. Although Albert Kelly reprimand for his shocking abuse of the girl in McDonald's got him a new contract! so you never know. Also... Zak Hardaker's contract will be absolutely packed with termination stipulations etc. He will be watching this situation very closely i am sure. This put's the club in an untenable position IMO.

No issue with Sam for me - Other than him being drunk, when he supposed to be a professional "athlete". He just seemed to be trying to get his gobshïte of a brother to leave (admittedly not trying very hard)

Joel is an absolute cockwomble and is lucky not to have had the police involved for going after the barmaid.

Not sure how old the video is, but if it was anything like recent (this year some time) and especially if it was after the season started, there should be a club suspension/fine imposed.

If this is correct it puts the timing and sudden nature of Wane's resignation into context perhaps?

I wouldn't sack them at all.
The club must instigate an investigation.
If their contracts allow it I think they should both be suspended without pay until the investigation is concluded.
From there, disciplinary action as appropriate.
In this way they are still employed and registered at Wigan and no one else can sign them.
As has been said, they cannot represent the club until matters are concluded.
