| Quote hatty="hatty"Your right you are in the small minority, the club needs freshening up from top to bottom. Forget if it's been a successful season or not, for the good of the club changes must be made on both playing front and coaching. At this moment in time we as a club are dying on our feet, in 40yrs of watching Wigan I've never seen as much discontent among the fans, the do gooders will still say we've won a wcc and are in the cc final but the truth is we are in the entertainment business and quite frankly we are far from being entertained. The chairman and chief exec are more concerned about the Wigan name rather than the product they are supplying, would McDonald's or KFC reduce the quality of product to promote their name, the answer is no they wouldn't because the product is what gave them their name in the first place.'"
Get a grip ffs. You make some valid points; there are definitely improvements needed in the playing ranks and some fresh ideas in the coaching, although Wane doesn't need replacing for that to happen nor should he be, but you ruin your argument with sh*te like "the club is dying on its feet". If our club is dying then there's no hope for anyone else in this sport.

I hear that is actually engraved on the trophy!

You say this like we have already won the CC....on current form and performance, we will get mauled by Hull.
At the start of the year would you have taken the WCC, scraping into the super 8's, scraping into a CCF (where we should of lost to Warrington and played a poor Salford), subsequent defeat in the CCF and an 8th placed finish?
Because realistically, that is what we have had and should expect. I wouldn't. The season we have had is a poor showing all round.
I am genuinely unsure what changes can or will be made.

Wane needs replacing and the "old boys club" needs breaking up and i include the chief exec in this.

| Mass panic is not needed, we need some changes in the playing staff without a doubt.
I would switch Powell in to 7 and leave TL as backup hooker - can't be any worse and must be worth a try, might take a game or two to settle in but surely got to be better than watching Tommy flounder - I groaned every time the ball went to him to kick as you knew it was going to be a rubbish effort - it always is. You can tell when we are playing badly Williams starts to run around in circles and completely stops any attack in it's tracks.
The halves were poor last night - very poor. Second half we looked completely lost no direction and no serious effort at times - Wane himself called it after the game.
The Gelling Bateman side looked lost in defence second half - some really lazy efforts.
Like others have said Sam at least tired and Davies was our best player by a country mile if others had shown his attitude we would have been in with a chance.
Leeds played well but we let them at times.

| Quote Bigredwarrior="Bigredwarrior"In sport, things happen. Teams have bad seasons for various reasons. Leeds did it last year, Chelsea the year before but came back champions.
Wigan have been in the last 4 grans finals and won 2. We all know we'd have beat Saints in the 'Flower' final and we lost the one to Leeds because of a try from a knock on that wasn't given.
We are the current champions and world champions and are in the final of the challenge cup in 3 weeks! If that isn't good enough because we've not thrown the ball about enough go and watch Cas!
This season hasn't been great but in 35 years watching Wigan I've never known a season like it for injuries and whilst it is not an excuse for everything it certainly mitigates some issues for me.
At the start of the season I'd have taken WCC and CC and given the season we've had I'd say it's quite a successful year, although I'd rather have won the GF.
Im sure I'll be in a small minority but sweeping changes to coaching staff and players is not needed. A bit of luck is what we need, that's all and we'll be there or there abouts again next season. Bring on the abuse!'"

Will be interesting to see what the crowd will be against Huddersfield and if there are no changes what ST sales will be next year. The club is stagnating and without change will continue to do so.

Rubbish! We beat Warrington fair and square and it would have been a real injustice had they pinched it at the end. We were far superior against Salford bar a 20 minute spell where they scored 2 tries. We dominated them for a good 60 minutes of that game.
To say we scraped into the final is totally wrong. We got to the final and deserve to be there and whilst Hull hammered Leeds in their semi, I for one won't be backing against us. If we play like we can, we can win the game.
I would however bet heavily against us finishing 8th. It's time some of you lot stop expecting us to win every game every season. Leeds were better than us last night and won the game in the last 20 minutes. It was a good contest up to that point.
Some of the people who post on here seem incapable of posting unless it's doom and gloom. I'm far from a happy clapper but jeez, there's more than one team in this country!

Sweeping changes most certainly are needed. You are talking as if this season is a one off bit of bad luck and are ignoring the fact that performance are getting worse year on year. Our total lack of ideas on attack is not a new problem. It's been a source of frustration for at least two seasons now.
The goal kicking issue has never been properly addressed but what is worse than all this are the totally clueless tactics. This season despite the injuries we have been in winning positions several times and blew it.
As an example and I forget which soecifc game it was but I think it was Hull, but Mick Mac and FPN were helping Wigan dominate the game yet bang on 20 minutes Wane hauls both off. Then Hull start to dominate and batter us so what does Wane do? Leave them off until the 60th minute by which time the game is lost. We have blown games like v Wire when we drew due to similar tactical ineptitude.
We nearly blew it v Salford in the CC semi. MM goes off bang on 20 minutes and from cruising we let them right back in it.
The idea this will change next season due to a bit of luck totally ignores the fact it virtually doesn't matter who is on the pitch, the tactics are all over the place and change is needed.

You are correct Hatty I feel just the same I have loads of tapes and DVDs of Wigan's games(winning ones !)and over the last 2 years you can count on one hand the games Ive recorded as the Rugbys so boring I just didn't like watching them again, it needs a big shake up whatever form that takes,

| Unfortunately hatty weakens her own argument by using 'McDonalds', 'KFC', and 'quality' in the same sentence!
But yes, I agree. As a new arrival and ST holder here, yes of course I will get one next year, but it is with much less enthusiasm now, and the chorus of complaint in the pubs is quite depressing.
