| Quote NickyKiss="NickyKiss"I suppose that is the issue with DR in all honesty. Guys like Hughes and Crosby have been playing well in massive games for Wigan this year and with all due respect, I just don't see the motivation being too high. To them it's pretty much an excerise of keeping fit.
Then we move on to guys like Spencer, Lloyd, Burke and even Taylor and they're a perfect fit for you and us under this system. They're making their way at Wigan still and have plenty to prove. They need to make an impression at Leigh to try and get some games back here. They are also unlikely to play more then the odd game for Wigan this year so will be available most weeks to Leigh which builds up that loyalty to your cause.
This DR system only works with a certain type of player IMO.'"
Pretty much the thoughts that went through my mind...

Unbelievable. I post a comment saying Wane has done something right and you post that?
It's not even logical to say it. If I think he has got the balance right it follows I don't think there is anything to be gained from doing otherwise.
He has rotated players this season where perhaps a coach like Noble who tends to play his first team all the time may not have. Wane has been able to do this , has done so, but has resisted the temptation to do as he did at Widnes. This is all good IMO
The squad rotation so far has been fine and I can't recall wholesale changes with an A team out when 1st team players were fit and I also don't think we gain anything by doing so.
Resting players like Mick Mac when Lockers is out just puts more pressure on the other senior players to lead the team. If we are 30 points up at half time he can take MM off as he has also done in the past.

If we played lots of youngsters again Wakefield and lost, i for one would not be complaining,'"
I don't believe you.
Quote Wigan Peer I like to see young players blooded =#FF8000IF WE WIN. The nature of the tournament is another issue.'"
Edit for accuracy.
I don't know if you were at Widnes last season but I bet you didn't enjoy the experience at the time if you were. It's all right reflecting on the game afterwards and voicing opinions on a forum about whether it was/or will be good experience or not regardless of the result but I simply don't believe even you watch games reflecting on the wider issues at the time. I am sure you will go to games to watch Wigan hopefully win.
Also the nature of the tournament is certainly not another issue because it directly leads to people calling for players to be rested in league games.

This is very much my thoughts also, spencer last week and now Lloyd today don't gain anything from being 18th/19th man in your squad and not getting to play a game at all over the weekend. I'm sure they would rather be playing for Leigh than not at all and look like they want to be with us whereas Esp Hughes yesterday didn't look interested in being with us ( not that I blame him )

| Wakefield are without Tim Smith, Paul Sykes, Paul Aiton and Ali Lautiti. Bookies offering Wigan -22 which for me is printing money. Really can't see Wakefield scoring anymore than a couple of tries and Wigan in the mood they are in will steamroll them. Expecting to see Tomkins grab 4/5 tries too, 1/3 to score anytime too is not bad!

Not at all, after Wakefields performance against Cas last week, I think -22 was actually being kind. Credit to Wakefield this afternoon though, if they put that same effort in all season, they should go well. But they won't, as they only upped their game because it was Wigan.

Nonsense. To say he expects Tomkins to score 5 and Wigan will steamroll them is arrogant.
You're talking as though it is unheard of for a team to play badly one week and then up their game the next.

A look at the table suggests that Wakefield have had several bad games... But every credit for today's effort...

....and you're talking as though that's all it is, one bad result. Wakefield are 11th in the table with a points difference of -95, we are top with a points difference of 421. Here are the results when we've played you since 2010 (all won by us)
44-24
36-6
52-10
26-0
48-6
54-14
48-6
That's an average score of 44-9. Look at those results and tell us again it was arrogant to expect us to steamroll you and for you not score more than a couple. All credit to the lads for almost pulling off a shock but that's definitely what it would have been, because Wakefield to us has been an easy 2 points for quite some time apart from today.

| Think you are in for an easy game or dis-respect your opponents in any way and you are asking for trouble and I've seen it happen so many times and not just in rugby league. Delighted we fought back to get the win today and fair play to Wakefield for getting stuck in and playing as well as they did.
