| Saints, Leeds and Catalans battling it out for 3rd, 4th and 5th spots - or might Hull still sneak into top 4?

| All this confirms that as far as the league is concerned there is a massive gap between the top 2 ( Wigan and Warrington) and the rest - but it also shows how unimportant consistency throughout the season is. If either Wigan or Warrington are below par in a one-off game (the play off semi -final), they will not get to Old Trafford.

| IMO some of your fans are over negative here.
It's a bit embarrassing how little faith you have in your club - it is Wigan RLFC after all, you're top of the league and you have one game at Wire and start throwing in the towel because you know you can't possibly live with the might that is Warrington RLFC.
If I was a Wigan fan this would be my take on it:
- Wigan have been the better team overall this season (see the league table for evidence)
- Warrington are the better team on form at the moment
- Not so long ago Warrington were looking scratchy when Wigan were looking unbeatable so these are just ebbs and flows of the season and it will come down to who is in better form in the playoffs
- Warrington are going for the Challenge Cup and although you can't discount Leeds, the odds are in Warrington's favour, they will probably win that
- It is very difficult to win the double, unless you are a super dominant side with no clear rivals (eg Saints 2006). Warrington don't have that distance ahead of Wigan
- If Warrington win the Challenge Cup and go through all the emotions of success it will drain away a bit of the hunger while Wigan sit simmering after blowing it in the CC semi. The drain of that hunger does make a difference come the end of the season - see how we flopped against Hudds in 2010 and Wigan flopped twice against Saints last year
- You guys always go on about Warrington being 'bottlers' in the playoffs.
- So if Warrington bottle it who is going to win the Grand Final? Saints or Leeds?

It will be a wigan wire grand final. we battered leeds and 4 weeks later got beat by them in the semi.
Wire beware.
It is interesting we have lost 3 of our last 7 games. A dip in form ready to have a big onslaught in to the play off's.
Meanwhile wire are peaking for wembley

There've been some massive overreactions on here which are embarrassing really. Look at Leeds last year, they were properly humiliated in Perpignan and looked for all the world like it was season over for them.
We lost a game to a very good side and played awfully, there's nothing to say if we get Wire again we won't win.
We now have 2 guaranteed home playoffs against teams who have finished below us in the league. Bring it on.

You're assuming we will get through the playoffs.
It might be Wigan v Saints in the Grand Final.
You will have to deal with their greater experience in the cauldron of Old Trafford as they have probably played more games there than at their new home ground.

| Wee Tam back for the play offs is a must to sort the defence out .
I think it is only after the last few weeks that a lot of people now realise how good Wee Tam is and what a miss he will be next season .

| Also Fielden has been out for the best part of 2 years. He will be way off the pace and there is no way that I can see him being able to play to the higher standards of play off matches.'"
Thats a real worry then because at the moment Lima, Prescott and Mossop look second rate

| Ok so we didn't beat Wire but we are still 1 point clear. For some reason the 'experts' seem to think Warrington are guarenteed to win their 3 remaining games, however, London away the week before the CC final is not going to be easy especially as London have hit some form and Hudds at home the week after the CC final is not easy again Hudds have hit some form. They also play Widnes away last game which as a derby and just before the playoffs anything can happen. Our fixtures are not easy either but with 10 days rest to Salford, then a week off till Hull KR, hopefully some key players back fit, think we can finish in style ready for the play offs by smashing Stains at home again. In a nutshell I would prefer to have our finish than Wires, having said that they are playing well.
