| The one thing I can't get my head round with the Saints supporters is a few of them (not all) turning on the pairing of Gaskell and Lomax at halfback. These lads are 2 youngsters that are bound to have there ups and downs and they need patience. They were excellent last season but that was with Roby and Graham alongside them and at the moment they have neither.
The majority of the Saints fans are laying the blame at the right door and thats with Simmons though. I can't believe they have somebody like Wheeler on the bench and a couple of clowns like Meli and Gardner starting and also Wellens still hanging on at fullback when he simply isn't good enough anymore. He should be in the centre or backrow for me if picked at all.
They certainly have some problems and they're being highlighted more so then ever with no Graham or currently Roby to paper over the cracks. If guys like Wheeler, Gaskell or Lomax become a bit peeved with it all i'm sure we could find them a spot......they'd go well playing in a well organised, disciplined and attacking team coached by an ape!

They should win the first one but after that the Leeds and Wire games look a very tall order which could leave them with 7 points from 9 going in to our game (and they'd be set up for a derby day win no doubt as these things happen).
That would be unbelievable from a Saints side thats always been around the top 3 positions in superleague.

I can allow that. 1 win in 8 for Saints suits me fine

Perhaps that was the same guy who phoned that very churlish report into Sky last night after the game. All he was interested in talking about was how poor the overall game was and how Hull weren't really that good, rarely touching on what must have been a truly shocking Saints performance. He tried to give the impression that RL was the real loser and that all who attended would have gone home feeling short-changed. I bet the Hull fans who made the trip over wouldn't have been, whatever the opinion of yet another small-minded local journalist.

Leeds were in this boat last season, and we all know what happened next?'"
There are a fair few differences between Leeds last year and the smellys this year. Leeds had just got a new coach and he was rattling some pots. They also needed to make a good few changes to their playing roster and in general were in a state of transition at the start of the season. The smellys should be building on their success in coming second again but they look pretty poor. James Graham had the same effect for them as Andy Farrell had for us and now they've lost him, a lot of their mediocre players are showing their true form. Wouldn't write them off just yet but last night was a bad loss and they were soundly beaten.

| From the St Helens walk on redvee.net..... now 3 pages long!
=#FF0000They're lucky we stayed as long as we did.
I thought a fire alarm had gone off the way everyone left so quickly, so I just followed them
Maybe it is more noticeable in the new place, but it has been happening for years mate. The amount of times even when we were winning at KR and I looked down from the Scaff at the rows of people walking down the alley along the Pop to the exits are too many to mention. We have always done it, and when we lose a stinker at home we have always done it. Think back also to the last few GF's when our team have gone to applaud our end to find it half empty. It isn't something I do, but to say we don't do it is very generous to our fanbase who are just as fickle as any others.
I didn't hear the booing tonight but I'd probably already left.
I'm not paying to watch this sh*te everyweek.
17 robots against 17 robots. The entertainment factor is no longer. That's my point. If we were winning with drive, drive, kick, it wouldn't change my opinion

| From a while ago but well worth a read.
Quote Mugwump="Mugwump"Looking at Wigan's roster I'd say that - provided its developed properly (and there's little evidence that it will be at the moment) Wigan are a minimum of five years away from being serious trophy contenders.
Wayne Bennett himself couldn't shave down that figure.'"

| as a hull fc fan, i think we do deserve some credit, as per normal when one of the much fancier teams get beat by teams lower in the league, its always because they played poor, credit must go to hull defence whe were superb, half the reason saints were clueless in attack was because of our resolute defence, something gentle has brought to us this season

| I watched the SL full time show and watching the try scored by Turner I wondered who has been the sprint coach at Saints? Looking at the running style of Shenton it must be Thelma from Scooby Doo
