| What a compliment to Wigan and RL that they use our matches as a safe way of practising their tactics for dealing with less well behaved crowds at football games.

| I was waiting near the ticket office and the 2 horses came near that side. A few people asked them questions and they said(well the riders did, not the horses ) that it was a training excercise for them. They complimented rugby supporters, saying it is a good way of the horses getting use to a crowd situation without any danger of there being any trouble.
You could not do this at the football as there is always an element who could cause trouble.(before anyone says i am not anti-football and know most are decent people!)
Basically, we should be proud of our family reputation and take itas a compliment.

| Quote Conroy="Conroy"No. It's just believed that they do. I've been involved in and seen more fracas at rugby games than I have at football games and I've watched both sports across the country for years.'"
Correct, iv been watching Liverpool away from home at most premiership grounds and been to every home game for a few years and the police have it completely under control thsese days, something that SHOULD be brought in for certain RL games i.e Warrington v Wigan, iv seen more scuffles at RL than at the football. Obviously football followings are more male dominated and hooliganism still exists but the technology the police have and intelligence stops it from surfacing.

| I'm confused. Was anyone actually negatively impacted upon last night by this training exercise? I was passed by some police horses and....well...erm...that was it. TBH getting up in arms about it looks like another shining example of the completely pointless Warriors/Latics rivalry.
As for the bloke who was refused entry to the Moon on a day when Latics are at home, why are you surprised, that kind of thing happens all over the place? I got refused entry to a pub in Oban, on a Wednesday afternoon for wearing a Wigan shirt. They had a simple rule, no colours. Ever. The fact it was a rugby league shirt made no odds what-so-ever.

No place for Police Horses in Rugby League and all this serves to do is make people edgy (particulary if for example you were a new fan tonight) thinking RL is like soccer!

Merseyside Police used them for years at Knowsley Road for some games notably against Hull F.C, Leeds and Dire.

And us, I seem to remember a massive police presence a few years back.

| I don't think latics are any more trouble than our fans i just think they're pre empting tension on Sunday due to the fact that the team that wins sends (or is it just probably sends?) the other down to the championship. I never hear of trouble at latics games but there is a good chance there may be at this one due to the importance of it. Think of how we have very little trouble then a little at wire maybe saints games then none again.
