I had a bit of a shocker. Queued for ages at the ticket office because the turnstiles were shut due to 'having no float', when I asked whether I could come through if I paid the right change, the steward said only his supervisor could make such massive decisions, and he didn't know where he was. Then when we got to the ticket office it was £20 adult and £15 student instead of the £17 and £12 advertised on the turnstiles. Then when we got in the same steward as before was stopping us going to the bottom tier of the stand where the rest of our family (and plenty empty seats) were because there were 'no facilities', which we didn't really understand, as there was a bar and a toilet, what more facilities do they want? Eventually my uncle managed to get another steward to let us down there.

Then when we got back to the car, which was parked on a random estate, we found the people from a house on the estate had called the police because we were parked on the curb outside their house (no double yellow lines, permit required or gates blocked, just two wheels on the curb) and took to taking pictures of us and the car when we said we weren't going to wait and talk to the police. Did anyone else have similar problems? Loads of other fans had parked on that estate and seemed to be getting similar grief. I saw some other fans arguing with the ticket office because their tickets hadn't arrived too. At least the score was pleasing icon_smile.gif

The away end was fulland the stand I was in (tunnel side) seemed to be busy, Last year the opposite stand was the busier one. Had a couple of pints in a thatched roofed pub just up from wetherspoons, only a few locals in.

The trip away from the ground was slow and ended up going through Chester to avoid the standing traffic. It will be interesting to see the attendance for the next home game against Wakefield

When you were asking about why isnt the lower tier of the away stand open, if im right, I think its because they haven't got the required amount of stewards in that area to deal with fans in that area. Pretty stupid I know. Thanks for turning up in that number, you helped to make it a great day out. You did out number us.

It was a good day out, the weather was good again and despite some of the complaints the ground was better than last year. I hope the crusaders can get out of their current slump.

I turned up at a similar time to see that queue, yet the front door into the pub was open anyway! d040.gif

Definitely more away fans than home fans...............

Wasn't until the 2nd half that I noticed Andy Gregory was sat in the row in front of me. He gave a speech in the bar afterwards, and spoke very highly of the boys, and Shaun Wane.

Definantly 3k+

Nobody takes away support like us unless it's a big game. Quality stuff! Couldn't believe it when they told me the away end was sold out! Those pictures don't show how many were in the home end as well.

What those pictures don't show is that there were 1000+ Wiganers in the stand you took the photo's from (I was sat on the front row of the upper section on the 20m line). A couple of hundred sweltering in the sun on the lower section, the rest behind me and to my left, right up to the half way line where you were.

Great support.

The away end is now a bit dated to say the least, bar and toilets bobbins, turnstiles didn't open until 2pm apparently shortage of turnstile operators, they knew how many were coming, the organisation needs to step up.
Oh and can they move the sun round.

It's just a shame the kop end is no longer used.... 3.5k Wiganers would have made one hell of an atmosphere on that terrace!

Was sat thinking that all game. Would have made them look worse though because both side stands would have been empty then as well as one end stand as those in the sides would probably have fit on the terraces.
