| Quote Rogues Gallery="Rogues Gallery"Winter of 62 /63 was the worst I can remember. it froze from Christmas 1962 until March 1963.'"
I remember noticing this when doing the site page for that year. 14 consecutive matches postponed, which is basically half a season. A full 76 days went by without a match and the situation best summed up by this guy skating on Central Park.
Quote Rogues Gallery

Wigan Evening Post & Chronicle - February 1963 - Bose on thin ice... for the first time!
Wigan's new Fijian stand-off, 23-year-old Kia Bose, takes his first steps on Central Park... but has to walk cautiously on the ice; which he was sampling for the first time in his life. And he is wearing a borrowed overcoat to keep out the cold. Bose landed at London and Manchester Airports last night in sub-zero temperatures and wondered why English cars seemed to have white roofs. He just hadn't seen before the effects of night frost on cars!
He said: "It was starting to get cold in Fiji when I left yesterday - the temperature was dropping down towards the 90's from 105 degrees." '"

| I started work last night at 22:00 in Birchwood, there was around 1cm of snow. By 01:00 this morning the whole place ground a halt in a 1ft of snow. I had 16 units and trailers stuck out side the gates and give all the staff the option of going home or staying (all went). All shunters (4) and units (35) are still stuck now. Any one expecting a delivery by DHL, you wont be getting it!!. I finally set off for home at 09:10 and got back into Eccleston, Chorley at 11:20.

| Pish in A-i-M - Needed to get bread and milk so went doing my best impression of Sebastian Loeb (albeit in a bloody Mondeo) to Golborne Asda. Got there and back without incident until it came to getting back up the hill on the estate. Fortunately the local hoodlums were only on their first glue-sniff of the day and kindly gave me a push (still had my wipers when they'd finished too). Shan't call um again (well, for at least a week).
On the plus side we've just had a huge snowball fight with all the kids n adults joining in. Better than being at work in Scallyville

| 2 inch of snow and we grind to a halt.
schools close, buses stop running, trains cancelled, town centre shops stay closed.
ffs...its winter...what do they expect in winter? sunshine?
once again local authorities all over the country have been caught unprepared.
I would love em to try and keep Siberia up and running.
(and yes i am moaning , cos instead of a quite day after the crimbo hols, ive got 2 off school, 2 off college, and other cant get to accountancy school)
oh and...we cant get car up street to go to supermarket and corner shops run out of bread cos delivery man havnt been.

Well it's about 4 inches of snow in AiM so far (and still falling); I can understand services being restricted, it's slippy as hell out there and, in the UK, there's not normally the weather to warrant snow chains or even winter tyres.
As for too many of your tribe being at home, why don't you go out n try and have a laugh with them? Failing that, maybe your parents could try these in the next life:

No, because, according to the board's resident mard, Quote AJschools close, buses stop running, trains cancelled, town centre shops stay closed'" , therefore we all have to stay home and be miserable.
