| Quote Steve Ella's Beard="Steve Ella's Beard"I've read the Salary cap rules a few times now and from every thing i can see they don't need to be able to pay his current salary at all.
From my reading of the rules the only stumbling block in getting rid of a player is whatever termination fee is agreed.
The termination fee counts on the salary cap of the selling club, usually on a pro-rata basis over the remaining term of the contract.
so lets say a player has 2 years left on his contract, and agrees a £50,000 termination fee, then £25,000 for the next 2 years still counts on the salary cap of the club terminating the contract.
I'll try and look further to see if there are any specific exclusions for 'transfers' but i'm sure a player could always have his contract just terminated if there are clauses in his contract to agree termination, and a suitable termination fee can be agreed between club and player.'"
surely the termination fee would be remaining wages tho as thats the contract that was originally signed? player could sue if didnt get that?
fwiw, my source says bailey is highest paid player at club.

You would logically think so, but the rules exclude that specifically.
The termination fee is whatever has been mutually agreed between player and club, via an agreement form submitted to the RFL.
It does not need to be related to his actual salary.

| Quote Odemwingie="Odemwingie"Matt King is on just under 200k apparently. He his the highest payed player in the league.
Fieldens wage is probably split over afew years though, he might be on 250k this year who knows but the amount he is earning every year will not be 250k.'"
For the gazillionth time; Matt King is not the highest earner at Warrington, never mind SL. The highest earner at Warrington isn't earning close to £200k.
Odemwingie, your info is way off.

At the end of the day we'll never know the real facts of any players wages.
There's
a) His submitted salary cap value (Appendix 3 of section E1 Super League Salary Cap Regulations, RFL Operational Rules)
b) The amount he actually receives in payments - this can be more or less than a) and will quite often be, and be perfectly legitimate and within the rules
c) The total amount he actually gets over the term of his contract, now this should be the same as b) but depending on a clubs accounting prowess and willingness to take risks in the grey areas may not be
d) Any 'brown envelope' scenarios - of course this last point is completely hypothetical and there is no evidence that this is what any club is doing.
I'm am also in no way saying that Warrington or any other named club is doing C either.

It could actually be a blessing if he had been, with his previous contract now having expired, freeing up some cap space.

| Quote tivolipoo="tivolipoo"According to the Express Harrison Hansen was disappointed to see Noble go.
Useful player but if it freed up enough cap space to bring in a bit of quality might be worth considering'"
His name came to my mind too. Only because he was the only player to speak publicly in Noble's defence after he went. But just because he liked the bloke doesn't mean he'll follow him down to Wales.

| You've got to realise that H was very young when Noble came to Wigan and noble eased him into the first team.
Hansen will probably feel a great deal of loyalty to Noble.

| IMO, I can see him coming in for Karl Pryce and Carmont. I think he would like to put the pair on a wing. He might try to loan some of the ex reserve players, sending O' Carroll there for 12 months would be a good move IMO both for the player and us.

And I don't think there is anything wrong with that at all.
Just because he is sad to see Nobby leave doesn't mean that he is going to throw his dummy out the pram, rejectr the new coach and become a bad influence around the club as some people seem to be suggesting he will.
