Wakefield must get a better result than us in their last match (i.e get more league points) or we finish 5th as our PD is much better. If we draw or lose we will finish 6th should Wakefield do better against Hull KR.

Castleford should win and get 7th so we will play Catalans unless we get a worse result than Wakefield.

Apparently according to the preview at the top there is a far shorter turnaround in matches finishing 6th when compared to 5th. Also my understanding is that the highest placed winner of the matches played between 5-8 plays the lowest placed loser of the matches played between 1-4.

Therefore if Hull KR or Hudds were to upset one of Leeds or Saints then we would go to them if we finish 5th and Wakefield/Cas would go to one of the big 2.

Having said all that I think in a one off contest Catalans is a far tougher proposition than Castleford. I would say us against the French is a 50/50 call.

if cas fancy going to wakey rather than wigan , they might do a saints and not bother turning up.
