| Maybe this is the right time then to give Phelps a run at 6. Why not? He could prove to be quality.

He's played under 17's, under 19's, NSW and Australian Junior kangaroos at stand off and earned a real reputation with some impressive performances. Just read the comments! Aussies really rated him as a 5/8th and it's his preferred position and most natural.
Why not give him a shot?
I would put a healthy bet he could do a better job at six than Martin Gleeson.
He could be a gem for us and we might not need a new halfback.

| Going off all those it would look Phelps is our man for 6. I'd give Mossop a game aswell with him being back and superleague ready.

I agree that I would be dumb not to have a look at him there.
Realistically Noble won't bring in Sam Gee.
The only decisions I'm struggling with are whether to play Pryce or Ainscough on the wing and whether to play Farrell or Flanagan.

Sam on the bench. Piggy starts. TL plays HB then hooker until Piggy's second spell. This way Sam gets about an hour, which is quite enough for Nobby IMO.

Sounds like he could do a good job.
I never realised he played rep football all the way up to 19 at stand off!!!
We are majorly struggling at the moment to find a 6 or 7 and it’s defo worth a shot imo as if it pays off we are quids in.
Just another reason why Phelps has to stay for next season for me.

Ainscough has not hit any form in the reserves and Rogues admitted that he shouldn't be back in the first team.
However Pryce has never looked comfortable on the wing.
Tough decision.
Mark Flanagan and Liam Farrell. Well Flanagan has had the most experience in the first team and with his loan spell at Halifax. Could also cover at six and loose forward and I think he went on loan as a second row forward so he might edge Liam Farrell. But Liam Farrell has put in some outstanding performances in the reserves I believe and is the player most in form.
For utility purposes as Flanagan has played at stand off, hooker, Second row and Loose forward I would go with Mark Flanagan.

| Gonna suggest something else...
Maybe Phelps at 7? 6 or 7 doesn't make a difference with split halves. If we keep Sam at 6 he can run off the back of Phelps attacking the line as a second receiver, which he has proven to be quality.
Phelps has more experience, so maybe let him run the game from a first receiver 7? Either which way it seems like a good time to give the Phelps/Tomkins HB pairing a go.
