I knew about it last week.

I can understand the players and club saying have a break. The players will have been told from early season that they where having a week off.

Imagine if you had booked your holidays then been told you couldn't have them.

However, after my anger has died down "a little" I had another think. If I had my holidays booked and then cancelled by my company I would not be motivated for a while.
I'm putting my reasoned head on rather than my fans head here.

So what do you do.

Flog them tho death when they get back, or put your arm round them and give them a cuddle.

A good manager knows who needs what.

How many days are this bunch away on a bender? Our teams fitness isn't great so the last thing they need is a holiday.

What other job would allow you to be a continual up and still have your holiday? You'd be expected to sort out your mess, not go off on holiday.

Of course they are entitled to a holiday. And realistically they are playing over summer so this is their only chance.


I would have said "enjoy it though, as you will be working your ar*ses off when you come back".

And in reality those were my thoughts after I'd calmed down on Sunday.

If a job has an 'off season', say like teaching, you are unlikely to be granted a holiday during the season.

Second, if I up at work, I would be expected to make amends, not swann off on holiday.

Well I agree they should absolutely be hauled over the coals and some should lose their places by the sounds of it (I didn't go so can't comment on which ones).

However, it's a long season, everyone needs a break (mentally) and now is the best time.

But the club knew last November that they would have free week, so they and the payers would have made their plans.


Had we won on Saturday I don't think there would have been many complaints.

But we did not win. That is the point. If you screw up, you sort it out. Not go off on holiday. The fact Noble et al allowed this speaks volumes.

They can go off on holiday during the off season.

There would have been a fair few I reckon.

I could only wish for something like that. At least it would show that one player at least cares just a little about Wigan RL!
