| I didn't realise they were only bothering to finish one stand and leaving the rest looking like a lot of scaffolding.
Also, where's the main car park going to be?

| I think the new Saints Stadium really looks the part, but I wonder how many people have actually picked up on the fact that, whilst the stadium looks from the air like it's been built as a bowl, it's only actually four stands (similar to DW and HJ) with no corners, and the walls at the back of the stands don't reach the roof. I hope this doesnt compromise the atmosphere.

I think there are plans for the multi storey car park in town(about 5/10 mins walk from the new stadium) to be the away fans car park.

There is going to be cladding around the rest of the stadium, which is due to be finished by the start of the new season. The cladding will fall one metre short of the roof and the reason for that is to minimise wind resistence which would put pressure on the structure.
Two of the corners are filled in (south east and south west) and they are the designated family areas.
The roof is continuous and there are no pillars or anything to block views.
There are approximately 1600 car parking spaces for use by fans and these are located in the town centre multistoreys plus nearby retail outlets who have come to agreements with Saints about parking.

So you will agree that the parking facilities are nowhere near as good as at the DW Stadium. The retail outlets close to Saints Stadium as you well know have forbidden parking (just as the ones at Wigan have).
Oh and there will be no pop concerts allowed at the new Saints stadium either and remind us of how many WCC games have been played in March.

The only time I've parked anywhere near the DW is on the car park opposite the shops, for a charge and a two hour wait to get off at the end. Mostly I've parked on the streets for free. Fans from Wigan would be dumb coming by car when there is a railway station at most 10 minutes walk away from the ground.
One of the reasons the plans for the stadium were passed was its 'green' platform. The council were keen to support the use of public transport. There is a cycling shed on the stadium grounds. So if you don't fancy the train I suggest you cycle there. You'll then have somewhere to park at the stadium.

You have decreed that have you? Well, Saints told me that they were applying for a performance licence so we will have to wait and see, won't we?

So not really any at the ground? Wonderful. No trains are not always the answer.

You really are dumb... "wigan this, wigan that", so what about the 12 other teams in the Super League? Face it, the parking facilities are insufficient. Wigan have sufficient parking facilities for the size of the stadium, and most other stadia contain some form of parking close by (even Wrexham did!). Saints don't. There's parking available in x,y,z in town at saints yes... but fancy walking down the side of duel carriage ways....
As for a performance licence, i'd hope they would be applying for a performance license, wont be able to use a PA for anything other than words without one. PRS License is compulsary if you want to play ANY commercial music in a public space.

Not as dumb as you, clearly. I was replying to a post by a Wiganer about Wigan who posted in response to my post. I guess my post was going to be about Wigan then. Yes! What a surprise.

You're also ignorant. In case you haven't noticed, a bridge is presently being constructed which will safely take people from the town centre to the stadium site. There are also crossing lights ready to go from the McDonalds, etc, on the other side of the Linkway along with a further suicide crossing for anyone wanting to chance their luck. Furthermore, Peasley Cross Lane isn't a dual carriageway. Peasley Cross Lane is the road on the other side of the stadium from the Linkway.

| God stop the bickering the new saints stadium is great it is made for public transport which for Wigan is perfectly adequate not sure about other teams but there you go.
Having our own would be nice but theres no need for us to at the moment as it would cost too much, would mean we never hit profit (in all likelihood) and the killer blow of course? Theres no way we would get planning permission as we have a perfectly good stadium at the minute and that was only built as it was dual use this wouldnt be and as such would be rejected unless we built something along with it like a new University for Wigan or something like that which is both unlikely and costly.
The end.
