yes, at the level of 'cheating' from Mcguire, certainly.
It would take someone of particular mean spirit to think the injury Mcguire suffered was anything other than a very unfortunate incident that has robbed the game of one of its most exciting stars for a fair period. And it would take a particularly cold heart not to see the immense personal hurt and worry an injury like that will have caused Mcguire and not to be sympathetic.
It would also take a particular type of stupidity to believe that Mcguire 'cheating' was any different to the numerous penalties Wigan gave away not only in that game but throughout the year.

And i suppose Andy Coley was just clumsy twice (on Delany and Fakir)
And i suppose it was just a co-incidence and conspiracy that Wigan gave away more technical penalties than any other team last year, and the most penalties in total, and its just unfortunate luck that Joel Tomkins gave away 12 more penalties than any other leeds player last year?

Nah, Ablett's timing was spot on, mistimed would be most efforts by that smackhead who could be back for you this season.

| I'd just like to point out, a Leeds team containing; Ben Jones-Bishop, Lee Smith, Kallum Watkins, Ryan Hall, Ian Kirke, Paul McShane, Luke Burgess, Chris Clarkson, Jay Pitts, Kyle Amor & the rest being their so called 'fantastic youngsters' got absolutely hammered by Fev Yesterday, while ours beat Barrow
Go Figure.

Not really a surprise to me. Leeds Senior Academy has been poor for a few seasons now.

Wigan are definitely going in the right direction (to achieve further success), the fact that our U20's are beating Barrow away 32-6 at the moment is testament to that.'"
since when were the 70s barren for Leeds ,the 70s were your most barren period ever and most of the 60s

Bilko.
I've been asking them why that is four around three years. Occasionally I got a rational answer, but most seem to bury their heads in the sand and say that they are still producing quality youngsters.

| Just read all 18 pages. Wow. Loving the banter. One poster summed it up perfectly with the “My dad’s bigger than your dad” arguments that have been going on regarding history.
My points :
1. I wish Danny McGuire a full recovery. I do think he cheated, but don’t wish him any harm. (We wouldn’t want the fact that he is out injured as an excuse if Leeds play poorly this season.). As some have said Wigan are far from whiter than white.
2. As for the play the ball / holding down issue. Are there any stats on this. Phil Clarke did briefly touch on this during a sky game last season, but it sure would make interesting reading. This whole lying on thing started following the Hull game, our 5th win out of six coming after the defeat at Bradford the week before. Richard Agar made the comment after his team IMO were far, far, more guilty of lying on in that match and trying to keep the score down as we were very impressive. (Hull scored a couple of very dubious late tries that didn’t matter but made the final scoreline flatter them.) I genuinely don’t believe that we are any better or worse than any other team in the league and this is purely a media driven myth started by Agar with everyone else jumping on the bandwagon. I am sure you will let me know if you think I am watching through my cherry and white specs, but this is my opinion.
3. Talk of Leeds’ demise is premature, but I don’t see them winning anything this year. They are still a good side, who like us, do play attractive rugby.
4. All the comments about history/honours, support, style of rugby are all coming from Leeds / Saints / Wire fans. You can almost smell the undercurrent of fear. Make no mistake, we are favourites for all trophies to be contested this season and rightly so, the more they post the more fuel it adds to the fire. I am pretty new to this board, and only started posting in September. Were we as bad as this when we were not winning anything?
It is hard not to gloat and as I say I love the banter. I get the general feeling that we are optimistic that we can dominate in the way Saints/Bradford/Leeds have in the Super League era, I’m not saying we will but it certainly wouldn’t surprise me if we did, everything is in place. It would be great to come back on here in 3 or 4 years time having won a load of SLs/CCs, I wonder what arguments could then be made about our honours list?
It says it all really, that the only thing Wigan fans are worried about is how S$$t our kits are. (and I still like it).
