| Quote: Stinky Turner "The bet was higher.
Last time you asked me what significant meant was to do with Joel Tomkins' salary increase and you went missing after my response (just like you did when asked to split your 1,600 figure into facilities last week).
In relation to Central Park; what is thwe ownership arrangement? Has the counicl provided a lease to the Wigan / Central Training partnership or are the council also part of that partnership? Who will be responsible for maintenance costs, you seem so worried about the up-keep costs of a stadium that you must be having sleepness nights with the worry of the running costs of a school!'"
I'd lye of the ael.
What has the maintenance costs to do with the revenue generated?
Are we talking about the year November 2010 to October 2011?

| Sorry, forgot to mention - our Youth policy remains the best in the game and has been for decades where the club have put a lot of their investment into *(almost) single handedly propping up the game with our ex young talent.
* Leeds & Saints have also provided significant talent to the game over the years.

Don't remind his "friend" about the U20 final and Wire playing a Challenge Cup winning over age player in their losing side.

| Quote: MattyB "The other team who share our Stadium had a massive turnover of £43m in 2010 but still came out with losses of £4m. So much so that their owner had to tranfer £48m of debt into shares which wrote of the debt the club owed to him.
Is it all fooking worth it?
Meanwhile we're making a modest (but growing year on year since IL) profit, investing in other areas slowly, (Central Park Education Centre / South Wales Venture), our training facilities at Orrell have often been quoted as the best in the league by far and we attract the best support in the league by far (along with Leeds) and have done since the mid eighties.
We're doing alreet.
The point I was making is that when people talk about increasing players salaries to do this sustainably you have to increase revenue accordingly (otherwise you end up with the situation at Wigan Atheletic that you refer to). Having your own facilities such as a stadium provide greater opportunities to do so. Obviously Warrington's gate receipts are some way below Wigan's yet other evenue streams allow us to make up the shortfall.
This has also been done to provide profits in something like four of the last five seasons whilst I think Wigan have only posted a profit once in that period.
I don't think Orrell has recently been quoted as the best traiuning facility in the league by anybody outside of the Wigan club. It is falling further and further behind facilities other clubs have (which I'm sure is one of the drivers behind the move of facilities to Central Park; 3G pitch etc). I've seen it up close plenty of times.
There is no doubt that Wigan are doing better than alreet in comparison with its peers in Super League however rugby league needs to up its game considerably going forward to compete with external forces.
As a companison the top 15 revenues for rugby clubs in Europe are:
Position Club 2009/10 Revenue (£m)
1 Toulouse 27.4
2 Clermont Auvergne 19.5
3 Leicester Tigers 18.5
4 Stade Français 18
5 Racing Métro 92 17.2
6 Toulon 16.4
7 Brive 16
8 Montpellier 14.8
9 Biarritz Olympique 14.5
10 Perpignan 12.9
11 Northampton Saints 12
12 Bayonne 12
13 Castres Olympique 11.8
14 Harlequins 10.6
15 Gloucester 9.4
That is what we have to compete with.

Not talking about the pitch.
The facility was kitted out in the close season of 2006 with the players moving in full time in early February 2007. The centre is the best in Super League and provides an all year round base for the club away from the DW Stadium.
The complex houses a multi functional gym, combat zone and changing rooms. There is also a fully equipped medical room and even a plunge pool and Jacuzzi to aid player recovery.
Also located onsite is a Video room where players and coaching staff preview and review opponents, a comfortable Players Lounge to relax, coaches offices as well as a dining room with kitchen where the players specialist dietry plans and menus are prepared and served.'"
But go on then, lets talk about out training pitch thenPitch

There are so many reason's why Union post these kind's of profits look no closer than Leicester Tiger's match day tickets for an adult they range from £47-21. The demand for ticket's must be pretty high if they can sell ticket's at nearly £50 for a standard league game, i for one am glad we don't see these extortionate prices in League what we must improve on as a sport is the demand for ticket's at their current pricing.

You know the bit when I said "recently" and "outside of the club". You haven't really addressed those points.
As I said I have seen the facilities at Orrell up close and they are falling behind what some other clubs can offer.

| Ah recently......!! As Wigan invested £2m on training facilities as early as 2006, as per typical in Rugby League where we lead others follow. If our facilites start to look a little dated by now, no doubt we will re-invest, or we could just use the local university's gym I suppose??
When Maguire arrived he remarked how the facilities at Orrell compared favourably with the NRL clubs, not exactly falling to pieces as the picture you are trying to paint.
My cousin (up to last season) worked as a scholarship coach at Orrell (having previously worked at various other clubs in the league) and he told me the facilities there were tremendous.
But then again I'm sure you know best Mr Turner/Paul Youane or whoever you really are?

I've never understood the need to have a 'trolling' account. Quite sad really.

I'd actually say it's the act of a small minded person. If you want to troll, just use your own account. It's not hard, it's a skill that some have mastered!

Especially when folk have connected the two together.
Then again, the Wire lot were adamant that Onedego is Odemwingie's trolling account: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=516083&start=10 (bottom of page two).
