We will see wont we i think if its a positive and Noble is staying it will win more of the audience over than you think.

I agree with that, the whole silence thing doesnt do anybody any good, but in that article he spins alot of positives about Noble. TBH the whole thing is becoming very frustrating because as you rightly say, I cant see the negotiations being complex, its simply carry on or dont. Noble & IL know at this stage what is happening, why not tell the fans?

Brian Noble has signed a new 2 year contract with Wigan Warriors as head coach for 2010 and 2011?

This is what makes me think that the coaching situ for next year may not yet be finalised. Because it doesn't make any sense to keep silent.
Perhaps someone - not necessarily Noble (because I still can't see him getting a big wedge) - is angling for a better deal, and the club deem him worth it, so negotiations are ongoing.
But as someone else has said, if the plan is to spring Noble on us at the FF, that isn't necessarily a crowd-pleaser. AG and co might like it, but I bet at least half of those there won't. And if we've lost to Saints, and then go on to lose the semi and get bounced out of the play-offs - and we've got Noble for another year - the other half will get fed up pretty quickly as well.
The other thing is - if the plan is to announce that's Nobby's staying - wouldn't it make sense for Nobby to attend the FF? I'm sure someone has said that he won't be there.

| Quote: Eastbourne Warrior "Apart from wakey at home and celitc away i don't think we have been as bad as some seem th think this year.
If you look at our recent history (last 10 years) how many coaches have we had. That combined with DW/ML splashing out mega money for a few players resulting in us not having a good squad has caused most of the problems we have had. Chopping and changing the coach is rarely the answer.
When IL took over he publically stated that it would be the 2010 season before the financial mess was sorted out. Noble came in and brought us back from the brink. I have watched us slowly change from having a few quality individuals to having a decent squad with competition for places. I believe the job Noble has done with the playing squad he has had has been very good and he deserves his chance for next season now the finances are back in order.'" spot on, we need stability not more changing,

Perhaps, but are we not then running the risk of Noble getting a job elsewhere (hull, catalan, celtic, bradford) and the other guy not settling for any potential offer and ending up in a right old mess.
I agree re the Fans Forum, it wouldnt be a 100% popular decision for many reasons not limited to form, use of youth and lack of trophies, but I dont think anyone is worked up about all those issues together, but it would be an interesting reaction.
If Noble was there, it would help, because he is a confident enough speaker to win people round at least a little I think, still, after the Saints game and the semi finals we might have a better idea.

That's true. With all these big matches coming up, it's difficult to see how anything could be announced at present.

| A 2 year deal would be very poor business from IFL in my opinion, you have to earn a 2 year deal as yet he has not done that.
Despite what i hear it does look like Noble will be at Wigan next year, which if he can find consistency is fine by me and i think all fans would welcome it.
The situation will surely be sorted at the FF, which would indicate he is staying given the timing of the event.
I still have a hunch no inside info at all that Brian Noble will be coaching Danny Brough but not at Wigan next year, although that seems much less likely now.
Although if he does stay i would be far from happy, i will be much happier if he develops some balls and gets rid of his mates from the backroom staff.

This is something I think would win Noble some grace from his detractors, a new assistant and maybe a proven fitness coach.

If we beat saints tommorow then noble will be definately be at the fans forum, I expect it to be announced then, that he will stay.... I mean who was the last coach to beat saints twice in the same season??
I agree that if he does stay then it should be longer than a year as we can't have this mess again next year if results at the start of the season arn't good enough...

Nobles gone!
www.wiganwarriors.com/imagelibra ... player.wmv
Go to 5:30 in that interview.....IMO its clear from his body language, the panic and the throwing of words together when hes asked about contracts thinking the question was going to be raised.
Notice the refernce to 'us' and then 'err this club'. For me theres so many give aways in that 30 seconds....Nobbys been told and knows hes on the way.
Would love to see a psychologist analyse that 30 secs
