Dakin is his birth surname.

What a load of utter tosh. If he’d have wrecked our run up to the Grand Final we wouldn’t be in it!

They would have been put down as TIC (Taken Into Consideration). Ultimately they wouldn’t have had any bearing on sentencing seeing as he was guaranteed a ban. You can’t put points on a licence that doesn’t exist and having no MOT isn’t an endorsable offence.

Let’s face it he is not the sharpest knife in the draw

From what's been said by various parties since, I would guess there were many more incidents at Leeds as well that were kept quiet...

| Sadly despite his gift for Rugby he's now just an incident waiting to happen. He's a low rent Gazza, weak willed, a posse of Neanderthals posing as his mates does not understand you can say NO and just not do it. As suggested by othersother incidents will have been smoothed over. As for the drink driving incident does anyone believe that was his first over the limit go behind the wheel! Running away denying it says much about him as for his people trying to give him some credit for cooperating with the police after his arrest and at the Police Station, you get credit if you don't runway and cooperate.
He's a good bet for another bout for another bout of reckless stupidity which could come at anytime lets hope it's only Zak that suffers.
No doubt he will get some stick from fans both game time and when he's out with his mates will he be able to ignore the abuse/banter perhaps depends on how much booze he's necked and if his Neanderthal posse still has a grip of him.
A brave call if Wigan keep him I'm sure he's promised to behave, again!

| If he's being retained then he has to move to Wigan immediately.
Get him out of his circle of mates and introduce him to people who have a different lifestyle.
With his past if he stays in the area local to him he's no chance of turning his life around. His only chance is making a go of it away from his current lifestyle that's got him where he is now.
I reckon the club may well go with that, I don't know though!

| He's good mates with Watkins and I've bumped into the two of them whilst out and about in Ponte. Watkins hasn't been a minute's trouble (that we know of) despite keeping the same sort of company so not sure I buy into the idea that he's dragged down by his mates.
His attitude on the As Good as It Gets documentary was "trouble follows me" and laughed it off. That probably tells you a lot about him...

| Well, in most of his incidents he's been with friends! I also doubt that he was alone when involved with the white powder, he may have been on his own when the testers arrived though. Guess he hadn't got to grips with the random drug testing, after all no other rugby player has been caught out, have they!
'trouble follows me' sums the fool up, not a shred of responsibility it's not me I just happen to be caught. That quote should be enough alone for Wigan to bin him.
Pandered to, excused because of his talent on the field far too many times and no change to his off field attitude. He's a fool and always will be

| How many guests at the royal wedding will have white powder today? Why is it OK for them to go unscrutinised and pay for injunctions from the press?

| I haven't a clue but I'd guess it would be quite a few. I wonder how many are subject to random drug testing as part of their work?
With Zak it's a pattern violence, homophobia, drinking, drugs, maybe even other indescretions well smoothed over. Not sure about the unscrutinised, the press seem to delight in getting a scoop involving those in the public eye when dabbling in the stuff as for paying for injunctions I suppose if you have the cash you'll do it but I would suggest if your'e caught over the limit in a Ford Fiesta you may not be able to afford an injunction. I would agree such injunctions should not be granted people know the risks, if you caught tough the law should equate to all irrespective of money.

| Quote: The Biffs Back "I posted this about Zak and how Wigan's chairman would handle the situation back in September
How will Lenagan now handle this situation after stating that Zak can't afford any more controversies but now that he has been found guilty of drink driving prior to him even lacing up his boots for Wigan?
An awkward situation without a doubt for Lenagan with how he handles this
I feel sorry for Sam Tomkins who has been fantastic this season and has played his best rugby since his return from the NZ Warriors and has been allowed to leave Wigan the club he loves, to sign for the Catalan Dragons for 2019 onwards, when I'd guess that it wasn't his preferred option'"
I agree with a lot of that but I’m not sure about feeling sorry for Tomkins. I doubt we’ll ever know, or if we do it will be when he releases a book upon retirement but I suspect that we signed Hardaker because Tomkins was leaving not the other way round.
As for Zak I honestly don’t know what we should do. I get the point that he is potentially possibly even inevitably going to be a disruptive influence to some extent. However from a purely playing point of view we won’t be able to replace him with anywhere near the same quality.
Maybe it’s because I’m a glass half full person, maybe it’s just blind optimism but there’s still that part of me that thinks if we can get him over to Lancashire to live and keep him away from his ‘mates’ we have a cracking player on our hands.
I still wish we’d activated the one year clause in Tomkins’ contract before it was too late though.

He’s supposedly renting batsman’s house while Bateman is in aus . Is the house in Lancashire ?

| He won't change, he'll just get a new set of idiot hangers on.
The more you hear of the Ford Fiesta Fiasco the more you know he's a lame waste of space, justifying the desperate need to drive, GOLF CLUBS!! Guess a taxi wouldn't have been any use.
