Quote: yickpie24 "The reason everything is all based on 'assumption' is because the club are not making any official statements on the situation. I accept they may not have all the details or want to wash their dirty laundry in public but there is clearly something going on as the whole rhetoric around Hock had him going to Parra and now Widnes. If these stories or rumors are making the national papers and virtually every other media outlet in RL then they can't be far off the mark IMO.

I would like to reiterate the points on selling merchandise and season tickets off the back of the clubs ambitions for this season made a earlier in this thread. Fans commit their hard earned cash off the back of the clubs ongoing ambitions and player recruitment/retention in the main. Our recruitment has been poor IMO and the the departure of many experienced players has left us thread bare yet SW thinks our squad looks stronger than last year?
Last season ended on a big downer - losing in two semis, all those players leaving, etc. The club showing no sign of buying in big name replacements (mainly because none were available). I'm not sure how any fan could seriously turn round and say they'd been tricked into buying a season ticket and a new shirt.

FWIW, I do agree that heads will probably roll if this season goes bellyup.

I agree.

But "the heads should roll" depends on the guy at the top. I suspect 'he' is more interested in not losing money, than a succesfull Wigan.

Even though I made the point about ST's and merchandise being sold off Hock's back I don't believe the vast majority were fooled.

It was more a whinge about lack of communication from the club on the matter and that by not releasing any info they stood to gain from his presence.

Well they do communicate a lot, just usually with a load of piffle. "Paul Prescott's off-season hijinks now on warriors tv" Thanks.

And in terms of mickey taking from followers of lesser clubs... I made the assertion that Hock was going to stay at Wigan and he'd walk into any NRL club a few weeks ago.

Widnes...

How do you know that all this stuff was going on with Hock before Christmas?

Why are you assuming that the club are the ones at fault when the guy they're allegedly in dispute with is a well-known headcase and trouble-maker with a long record of total stupidity?

And like it or not, Wigan are not going to give you the ins and outs of their disputes with players - whether it be over contract negotiations, disciplinary matters, or what - not until it's all sorted. They never have and never will. And I doubt any other club would.

I don't know what you are on about. There is something going on re Hock or are you saying there isn't? What that is are rumours, not assumptions.

Quote: Wigan Peer "I would expect there to be unrest in any and every squad, we can all assume that others would looking to improve their careers too, but the club don't owe us anything in the way of statements if they have nothing to state. We can all assume of course, and i'm sure there are some problems between Hock and the club, but his record for trouble has not been the best has it? Whether its a clash with Wane, who can say. My only concern is that this is not affecting the morale of the squad, i don't give a diddly squat what i know, i'm not that important as an individual.'"

The club doesn't owe its paying customers anything? Of course it does. All businesses and pro sports club owe their customers quite a lot. Treat them as insignificant individuals and they will start to lose them. It's good business sense to have a good relationship with your customers. Wigan probably benefits form a lot of people who view the world through cherry n white specs but it can't bank on that always working to keep the fans on-side and shelling out money.

Get in touch with Manley, whispers going round that Jamie Lyon is looking for a release from the last 12 months of his contract and he has always said that he enjoyed his spell in the UK.
Some sort of swap deal perhaps, the problem is Wigan would proberbly still let Hock go to Widnes and at the same time swap Sam.

"Cherry and white tinted specs......." The last argument for people who believe they are the only ones to have a valid point and others are blinded by ignorance. Don't be so patronizing!! Your "assumption" is that the club have something to tell you, and are somehow honour bound to tell you!! As has been mentioned elsewhere, whatever has been going on, legal obligations twixt employer and employee have to be observed. Just because you and some others don't know what the facts of the matter are, you feel aggrieved. If you so desperately feel you need to know all the machinations of the club, feel free to become a board member, this should salve your delicate sensibilities about feeling "out of the loop".

PS, is it possible to change the spell check from US to proper English?

The Communist Cap - dragging down success and aspiration to the levels of those who cba.:

Quote: Rogues Gallery "Ah the "good old days"
Yeah mainly at the shower of ***** on the pitch. (Fairburn excepted, and I suppose you could include Danny Campbell and Nicky Kiss (at a push) in there too- though given his game was stealing the ball in the tackle and striking at scrums, he would probably be kept out of current teams..)

Dan Sarginson: "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to join the biggest name in the competition" 18/10/2013 Tony Clubb: "This is a new exciting chapter of my life signing for Wigan and I couldn't be happier" 18/10/2013 Romain Navarrete: “I’m very happy to have signed for Wigan Warriors. As soon I knew that Wigan were interested, they were the only team that I wanted to sign for. To me, Wigan is the biggest Club in Rugby League and it will be an honour to pull on the famous Cherry-and-White jersey next year. I have still seen it mentioned from an Aussie scource that he wants out , quoting he prefers the Titans at present but still says that he hopes to come back to SL at some poinnt.

Given he's about to turn 31, if he signs that contract with the Titans I doubt he'll be going anywhere after that.
