Having seen that I would suggest that Wigan players wear black armbands as unfortunatley a mass show of respect would be impossible and would probably result in a few flare ups in the crowd. Shame !

Rightly or wrongly I would think that Terry Newton saw no other way out. It is frightening to think what we are capable of when we become desperate. I just feel so sorry for his family and especially his children. I do hope they can find some comfort in the kind things being said about him.

R.I.P Terry, what a sad day for all who follow our great game. Lets remember him for what he was ,a great player and a legend.

we can all count ourselves fortunate that we have never been in such a dark and lonely place as Terry obviously was, he was no angel, but he obviously had some real problems, and I can't help in thinking the game let him down.

RIP Terry, and sincere condolences to those he left behind.

The thing i cant help thinking is that if Millward had not wanted to get Higham to the club Terry would still have been at Wigan and this would never have happened as he would have been given time to recover with no pressure. I once lost a good friend to depression so know just what his family and friends are going through.

R.I.P Terry

What really upsets me is the way his career fizzled out well before his stupid mistake. I hope a lot of people don't forget what a good hooker Terry Newton was at Wigan. During his time in the cherry and White he went toe to toe with Cunningham fighting for supremacy. Like Cunningham he wore his club colours with pride, eventually crying his eyes out for the cause on the biggest stage of them all.

Who knows, if he hadn't have left the club before his time we could be celebrating the culmination of careers from 2 great Lancashire hookers this weekend.

I am shocked and saddened. I was lucky to meet Terry at a shirt launch a number of years ago and will always remember him as a top guy, true gent and amazing rugby league player.
