Field was sensational. The performance levels he’ll need to reach to get a MOM award on Sky are almost unattainable. If a British fullback put in that display, it would reduce them to quivering wrecks! If that British fullback had a surname that began with W, well, it doesn’t bare thinking about.

Ellis was MOTM for me.

Thought he was outstanding.

Not many props I’d swap him for.

Last year he was more of a middle than an out and out prop. I thought he was still pretty good in that role but this year he seems to have cultivated some mass and in now playing more as a specialist Prop. Everything he did tonight was quality.

Fully agree. Smithies has come on leaps and bounds. I thought Nsemba went well. Although when he first came on in the first half, it seemed to me like he hardly got a touch! No-one seemed to give him the ball. But better again in the second half. Miski impressed again, works so well in defence. I'm reminded of Marshall, who at one time went from talented, but is he reliable enough, to first name on the team sheet, and that was
achieved through hard work. Miski seems to be following the same trajectory.

Nsemba very good defensively. Was aggressive and looking for work, something he wasn’t doing as much a few months back.

We are hard to score from deep on due to the our pace.

It’s a great point about our defensive prowess when teams break from deep. It happened 2 or 3 times tonight and each time, I just thought ‘we’ll get them’ and we obliged. It wasn’t even a case of just French and Field getting back. Guys like Wardle, King and Smith were flying back as well. That is all on their desire to work hard because they’re not flying machines.

Yeah, I thought that too. We weren't just reliant on Field making a brilliant cover tackle (although he can), others were chasing back hard and hauling them down.

I’d have taken that result prior to the game in a heartbeat.
We now have the edge so I expect a professional game plan against Leeds next Saturday.
Dupree will be a welcome returnee next week and I hope young Nsemba keeps his place in the 17.
A dry week expected weather wise and I’m hopeful that we can address our poor performance at the JJB.
Not sure if O’Neil was carrying an injury but he was below par tonight compared to his usual high standards.

I thought that Faz’s performance was the best I have seen from him for a while.

We're clicking into gear alright. Our defensive intensity at the moment is unbelievable, I don't think any side currently is matching it. It all comes down to how we perform in a semi final, but the signs are good.

To think we have Dupree and Havard or Isa (depending on who returns) to come back into the pack is good. The pack at the moment are mullering their opposite numbers.

Funny enough I did after the game with Byrne and Ellis.

Timing seems to be perfect with ramping up the desire etc,could be a great end to this season.

I did think Field was MOM not just because of the try he scored on half time.

Dupree will come in for Shorrocks next week but if Havard is fit for the playoffs then that will be an interesting decision for Peet.

Workmanlike performance and we are hitting our stride at the right time of the season, the thing is I honestly think we have a lot more to offer, if we can get a little bit more cohesion in attack we could jump up another notch and with our recruitment for next year looking so good I think this could be the start of a good period for the club. A big experienced second rower addition from the NRL for next season would be the icing on the cake and really make us the team to beat.

Smithies doesn’t need to be fired up by big hits/fights with the opposition he is naturally competitive. He seems to have matured, he would be a good option for captain in the future.
