Happy for him to to come in a caretaker and if Peet is taking over have him work closely with Waney over the next few game maybe even pre season.

Wane or Lenagan?

Wane has. Spoken personally to a coach currently out of work with regards to joining next year. I believe if Leuluai retires then the coaching job goes to Leuluai. If he plays again then the job is going to the chap Wane has in mind.

I've heard he's spoken to Duffy and that they gave him a tour of the facilities a few weeks back.

No idea if it's true & it came from a current academy lad, so no reason to doubt it.

Do people think SW will be head coach or director of rugby ?

Whilst he's a former player, is "new ideas" not what Lam was brought over for? He's not played, or been involved with the club for 20 years or so.

People calling for this white knight from the NRL have Madge tinted specs on. For every Madge & Holbrook, there's even more like Lam, Price, Furner etc.

Wane might be going back to an ex coach but he’d be anything but going backwards IMO. I want a proven winner in charge and he’s just that.

Lam was brought in to be the stop gap before Edwards for a year. You have to ask why he's still here.

It's a lazy, comfy, appointment that is why the club has gone backwards at the alarming rate it has over the past few years.

The whole club needs an absolute rocket up its backside starting with Lam and Radlinski going. If Wane replaces Radlinski ok - if Wane is going to be coach in all but name we won't move on as we need to.

But again he’ll be anything but lazy, the players will be anything but lazy and it won’t be a comfortable environment for anyone. I know that’s not what you’re saying and I agree on some scores that we shouldn’t keep going back to ex players or members of the coaching staff but this isn’t any old player or assistant coach, conditioner etc, this is the man who dealt with the injury crisis that Lam has, dealt with numerous player exits like Lam has had to and blooded loads of kids like Lam has but he won things, plenty of things.

I’m basing me wanting him back on the assumption that any new man would need to work with what he’s given regards coaching staff, back room staff etc. We won’t get that full clean sweep people think we need, a new man wouldn’t be able to lay off every coach and member of the back room staff and bring in their own men, as that is not how Lenagan does things, so if we’re going to keep going down this route of hiring from within and promoting from within, then there is no better man than Wane to oversee that IMO. If somebody said to be it’s a blank canvas and a new man gets an open cheque book to do what he wants with his staff, than great, let’s get in a totally new man but we know they won’t get that.
