Quote Itchy Arsenal="Itchy Arsenal"I hope that you are successful. Personally I feel that they should be inviting people like yourself and other "influencers" from say Twitter and most definitely Phil Wilkinson. If they get this forum "wrong" they will be causing more damage than actually re-assuring dejected fans.
I believe that questions have to be submitted in advance which to a degree I can understand to avoid the "how many shredded wheat can Tony Clubb eat for his breakfast" type questions but it can also lead to questions being "selected" to potentially avoid any "difficult" questions.
I'd be asking why are they holding the forum next week (i.e. timing significance if any) and what are the objectives of holding the forum.
At the end of forum they can then ask attendees if the objectives have been achieved.
I am disappointed in the extreme that the forum will not be shown on Wigan Tv'"
Tickets sorted
Influencers!!!!
Ha ha
At the last one beginning of 2020 I didn't ask a question in the forum, but to be honest the amount of absolutely shocking questions he was getting was unbearable.
People just giving isolated Instances of their experience buying a ticket, or getting a car park pass. And ill be honest, 80% of their statements were false (one guy complaining that his daughter who was 17 or 18 having to pay full price or 240 or summat for a season ticket in East stand, absolute bollox as my Lds were 21 and 17 at the time and they got season tickets for about 140 and 110 for example).
People just complaining
What i did do though (along with 2 others who I went with) was speak to him on a one to one basis whilst the video presentation was being presented to the audience (we couldn't be d sitting down so we stood at the back of the room where the video equipment was and IL went to the back of the room while it was on).
We had 5minutes chatting, and i/we said a few things, and then when it concluded his sister came over and we chatted to her for 5minutes and IL came over again.
Very interesting 10mins or so.
Dont agree with everything he said, and in light of the current situation he may reflect differently on a few things, but, and thisis what i think most people don't do, I would with hindsight admit I would look at things differently. I'm not in public going to go into some of the things I said or his replies.
But let's be honest, with Covid and the Latics=stadium situation the last 18months have been rather difficult
I'll say it again, last 3 seasons ask supporters their expectations of league position and most would have said top 3 on each of last 3years, most would have expected us to win something.
That says to me recruitment and squad isn't as bad as it is currently performing (and imo has been for 3 years)
I accept there are some glaring ones (the Tony club 2yr extension, mitch Clarke as of your not going to play him why sign him etc) but overall Lam has the tools.
I think the catalyst to all of this is the Edwards debacle, because without that we wouldnt have Lam (and I do have a bit of sympathy with Lam in that this isn't what he expected).
But
It was ILs job to get the Edwards thing over the line, he didn't
It was ILs decision to stick with Lam
And I think he got both wrong
I have no idea how you get selected for questions, if anyone does let me know
