| We’ll beat Catalan and Castleford at home but Sunday is the hardest game, Wakefield has been our bogey ground for the last 3 years and although we’re in good form and they aren’t it really wouldn’t surprise me if we came away with 0 points

Agreed. Vitally important we win this game. If we treat it like a cup final and go big on defence we stand a great chance of being 2nd by Sunday night.
What a statement of intent that would make. From 2nd bottom to 2nd top in a few short months.

Adrian Lam names the Wigan Warriors 19-man squad to face Wakefield Trinity this Sunday in the Betfred Super League.
One change from the 19 that faced Warrington as Bourouh replaces Sammut
Wakefield Trinity vs Wigan Warriors, Sunday 1st September, Mobile Rocket Stadium, K.O. 3pm
Head Coach Adrian Lam has named the Wigan Warriors 19-man squad to face Wakefield Trinity this Sunday in the Betfred Super League (K.O. 3pm).
Lam’s side face Trinity for a third time in 2019 on Sunday, with both clubs picking up wins on home soil in the previous two encounters. The last time Wigan travelled to the Mobile Rocket Stadium back in April, Chris Chester’s men came out on top, winning 30-20 despite a hat trick of tries from Wigan’s Joe Burgess.
Team News
After failing a late fitness test ahead of the Warrington game two weeks ago, winger Joe Burgess returns to the 19-man squad. Earlier this week Adrian Lam spoke confidently on his fitness.
“Joe Burgess will come back into the 17, so there’s decisions to be made.”
Captain Sean O’Loughlin and prop-forward Ben Flower remain sidelined but are expected to be in contention for the visit of Castelford Tigers on Friday 13th September at the DW Stadium.
Forward Joe Bullock also misses out as he recovers from a knee injury sustained vs St Helens in July.
Dom Manfredi (knee) and Tom Davies (ankle) remain the only long-term injuries for the Warriors.

| Hope Powell makes it, these last few weeks have arguably been the best of his career.
I wouldn't want to chuck Bourouh into what's turned into a must win game.

| The lack of trust in Sammut is clear to see. I sense we want him off the books at the end of the season but he could still be useful this year. I’d have felt more comfortable with him at 7 and Leuluai at 9 then I would with young Burrouh starting at hooker (should Powell miss out).
I wonder if we may still see Tommy at nine with French going in to the halves if Powell doesn’t make it.

Picture of Sammut doing the rounds with his foot in a surgical boot, no idea what he's done.

Clears that up then. It would’ve been handy to have him fit.

| Game of the round for me. Two teams with everything to play for. Wigan on form have to be favourites but potentially Trinity are still a formidable outfit. Missing our four of our best player in Johnstone, Fifita, Ashurst and Arona but no longer missing enough players to excuse a poor performance. It’s two points for the team who wants it most though I accept that at the moment Wigan are a cut above us which hasn’t been the case in recent years.
Wigan win for me but unlike two weeks ago i wouldn’t bet my house on it anymore

I don't think you'll find any Wigan fan willing to bet their house on this one.
To say our recent record at your place is a bit poor is quite an understatement

I think that should happen. Tommy at 9 French in the halves and Borough on the bench is as strong as we could go

| Can't make my mind up if the Hudds result was good or bad for us, certainly piles pressure on Wakey especially if HKR can pick up a result today.

| Outright second tomorrow should we win. Massive! Confident we will win our home game. But away is a different matter.
In our recent run only Hudds away we put on a decent score.
Scrapping past FC, KR and Leeds.
If you offered me a 1 point win I’d snatch your hand off
