You're right he did say the chumps would go unbeaten all season, you'd think the man had never played at the top level with statements like that. The guy is a Dick, and his thoughts on the turn out of Saturdays game is no better than mine, or yours. IMO the side with the most puff in the tank after 60 minutes, and the lions share of luck will take the spoils. Whoever is considered as home, or away team, and what pictures are used, won't matter one bit in the end. The only prediction I will make is that if we win almost everyone who isn't a Wigan supporter will say we robbed it by cheating, thuggery, bending and breaking the rules, and basically getting away with blue murder. We are the team they all love to hate, so be it. Whatever happens on Saturday won't change that.

They should have given more of their academy players a game then shouldn't they instead of "investing" in all their overseas players!!

No not only 16 players fit. A case of if Lilley is picked he won't get on, likewise if Delaney is missing and Walters is on the bench he'll hardly be used.

All the media garbage is just a way of selling the final with a (fairy tale) slant. Seen it before in previous finals with the likes of Jimmy Lowes and KC.
Remember Pie fans, every recent GF we have played in against either Stains or Wire the media have had us down as clear under dogs. You know what the outcome was so their opinions mean diddly squat, don't let it wind you up and enjoy a great battle on Saturday.'"
Hopefully will be a great encounter too close to call with any confidence like you say media favourites accounts for jack all on the day.
Wigan had no chance against Wire according to all the pundits and won, last year we were favourites and lost (due to stupidity in the main) hopefully we are all talking about the game and not the referee or a player brain fart come Saturday night.

He is a regular on the excellent Back Chat on Premier Sports and you can see why. He is opinionated to a ridiculous degree, but because he was a great player (and he was no question) he is indulged.
I'm not sure if he thinks before he speaks but in addition to the above he in all seriousness argued for Paul Rowley to be the next England coach.

| Most bookmakers have the game at evens, some have Wigan slight favourites. Given the injury situation think this is about right. For some reason I don't think it'll be a tight game...either Leeds by 20+ or Wigan by the same. Just can't work out which.

I know what you mean. People often make the mistake of saying itll be a tight game because the teams are evenly matched and have similar records.
I'm with you. I can see Wigan by plenty if the Saints game was one war to many for Peacock, Sinfield etc. I can also see Leeds by plenty if Wigan revert to mid season form. So the smart bet might be 21-25 points either way!

| Had a look at the betting and with 11 bookies only one has Leeds as favourites 5 have Wigan as favourites and 5 have them joint. On that basis overall Wigan are favourites. It does not really matter who's favourites it's who performs on the day. I did not think Leeds would beat Huddersfield, I did not think Leeds would beat Saints. They look out on the feet and some players are clearly knackered and stuck together with bandages. Leeds are there for the taking and in my opinion if this game was played on form before the challenge cup Leeds would win as they have been the best team this year. Are they the best team on current form you would say no. Wigan look fresh and if I was having a bet, I would have a shed load on Wigan but I would never back against my own team. Unless there's some surprises re injured players returning then it's likely Leeds could be missing Aiton, Delanney, A church, Ward, Sutcliffe and JJB. If so that leaves us with two kids on the bench that are unlikely to get on the field. Don't write this Leeds team off because Phil Clarke has done his usual motivation speech !!!!

| Yes thanks a lot Phil, Leeds did look out on their feet until that 40-20 then the energy came back, if he plays Aiton it will be a gamble , how many weeks has he been out ? he is going to struggle after 20 mins, it all depends on our discipline in my opinion, if we don't give you easy yards think we can do it, we shall see , can't see it being a big margin either way.

Oh the chance of a comfortable margin for Leeds would be a miracle. They've taken years off my life the last two games (and several other big games in the past) and I don't expect any different IF we are to win.

If Aiton plays, and i don't think he will, it will be from the bench and more than likely be only a very small stint to allow Burrow a breather. Its not really much of a gamble as the last two weeks we have played with an unused sub in Jordan Lilley.

| You're paranoid. You're labelled as the second team because Leeds finished 1st!!
Wigan sent Gelling and Clubb for the promotional stuff.
Both teams have sold their allocaion.
Wane getting his team up for big games is a myth. (last years grand final and WCC) he's just a tool.
Oh, and as for biased media. Have yoy watched sky sports news recently? Phil Clarke? Shocking pundit. Tomkins working for Sky all of a sudden? O'Connor? Sky Sports were with Wigan all day yesterday. Get the chip off your shoulders!
