Correct, the only explanatuion is multiple laser pens in all stands. I sat in S2 and could only see the light on the floor in SE corner. Quality lasers don't turn up very often in your local £ shop....

Can I just settle this.

It WAS a lad in the North Stand, and it was a single laser pen. Half-way up the block just to the right of the posts as we looked from the South.

He was identified and pointed out to stewards by the 20th minute, plus photographs were taken of him actually directing the laser at our players.

This was then taken to the Control Room, who for some unknown reason, took around an hour to throw him out.

He was eventually ejected at around 68 minutes.

Let's not have any "not possible" replies please, as several hundred people saw the offense being committed and it was caught on film.

Apologies, I assumed it was a (sub-)military grade single laser before posting on here as I only saw the one person shining a laser, at the same time as the blob was on Sam both times and on Pat the once. Had no idea that multiple lasers were going off. Was it planned or something

going off the shape of the green light on the ground when sam was collecting the ball it had to come from the north, ie, tear drop pointed towards the south so couldn't have been from the south. plus the stewards where trying to spot it from the south. saw the young lad being thrown out of the south, fair enough if he did have a laser then take it off him and have a word but the abuse he got was way ott!

I know a policeman who has actually arrested someone for doing precisely this.

And there was no "second gunman" - It was a single laser pointer, aimed by a guy in a grey hoody, half-way up that block in the North stand.

Laser pens can shoot a decent beam of light over way more than 100 metres.

Unless, of course, there are a whole load of chavs running around with "military" spec lasers and pointing them at aircraft and police helicopters.

If a 'street' laser pen can cause problems for aircraft at several hundred feet (as they do fairly regularly), I'm fairly sure it could be easily seen and cause a distraction from the North to the South or vice versa.

A member of this board was informed of the 'South Stand' culprit and informed the stewards, the pen was confiscated by the stewards and he was ejected, only to be allowed back in some time later after apologising.

This all happened 5-6 rows behind me.

Absolute tool, Eddie said he was thrown out... Saints put a high ball into the corner early mins and the green light was all over the place, looked alot like it put Tomkins off.

Glad the culprits where caught, No need for it. From where I was sat in the south it looked like there was a green laser coming from the north, the angle of it was obvious, happened a number of times after saint's put up a bomb shinging towards the south east corner from the north.

I actually thought the officials would have said or done something but wouldn't surprise me if they didn't even notice.

Second time this has happened now this season. Hope it doesn't happen again.

Yep, definately, he was sat with a guy in a white top, and stood behind them both was guy in a royal blue top, I pointed them all out to the stewards too, who said yes, weve, got eyes and cameras on him right now just waiting until he does it again
