What i am trying to get at is effing and blinding in conversation around old people, young children or women isn't a good thing and i consciously try to refrain from it. however the occasional song at a game is just a bit of banter at the end of the day. Thats why rugby fans can drink in the pub and have a laugh and a joke with each other. If the banter and the atmosphere goes what to we have? A posh playing field with 26 blokes chasing an inflated egg.

I understand both sides of the argument but in this case this chant isnt bad enough to warrant this outcry.
my 7 yo daughter understands there are nasty words people use and she understands she shouldnt use them. issue dealt with really.

No problem with that. I was sat next to the Saints fans and actually enjoyed the banter more than the game.
You don't need to use bad language to have banter.
As a sport we cannot afford to alienate fans. I stopped taking my kids to watch Everton due to the bad language. |
