| Quote Ian Roberts Closet="Ian Roberts Closet"We win and the same old usual bitter wire fans are on moanung about the ref!! They were all glad to see Ganson get the game last week after he gifted them the game last week in the hope he would nail us for our 13 men in the tackle!!
Doesnt happen so he must be biased! Maybe we didnt slow the game up enough for Steve!! Anyway lets be honest anything other than a Catalans win at the anti wigan fools were always going to be in full voice!
Apparently some are getting off on the attendance!! Never mind let them get on with it! We looked fresh and has though we are still a major player!'"
I posted this on the Wire forum after their win against Huddersfield and I feel we were the same tonight, just not as good in attack as Warrington.
"Very impressed with the performance last night. Yes you can say the referee was poor (now I'm going to sound like Phil Clarke ) but that performance reminded me of Wigan last season, not a bad comparison considering we won the GF!
It was a very good performance and I don't think you are fully getting the plaudits it deserves. Yes Huddersfield we're poor but that was all down to Warrington and the intensity you came out with, not allowing them to play. This is reflected in the latter stages of the game when Huddersfield were knocking all on etc, all down to good work from Warrington in the 1st 20 minutes. As I said before similar to Wigan which cannot be a bad thing. You will find opposition fans putting the performance down to luck, reffing decision, Hudds not turning up, when in truth you were very good!"

| was impressed by Ganson.
the amount of trying to milk penalties for lying on , by both sides, could have turned into "The Steve Ganson Show"........instead, he shouted at the player to stop moaning and get up and play the ball.......which made a flowing game.
only thing i wasnt impressed with, was him not having a word with the catalan player who went down holding his head like he had been hit by mike tyson after Coley slapped him ........looked like a wendy baller.......no place for it in Rugby League

I can just see you going berserk in your living room, as usual more interested in Wigan losing than your own team winning - hence you come rushing onto the Wigan board to post, instead of your own.
Hope it's capped your weekend nicely.

| I always say you know the refs had a good game when you dont notice him - you either notice him because hes giving too many penalties or you notice him because hes ignoring everything.
I didnt even realise Ganson was reffing today untill I read this thread.

| Difference is, in the Wire-Huddersfield, Ganson was whistle happy, but for both sides, as for some reason, it seemed as if he was trying to lay down some kind of marker. Ganson was poor today and did possibly influence the outcome of the game. He denied Catalans what was perfectly fine try in a crucial part of the game. How you can say that O'Laughlin didn't lead with the knee's is ridiculous, as he clearly came in late with the knee's. Yes, perhaps Catalans' penalty count would have been higher, but so would yours.

Are you seriously saying that Ganson was worth 44 points today?
Which 'perfectly' good try was denied? The winger well offside and within 10m, or the forward pass one?

I'm not saying Ganson was worth 44 points at all, but that try that he called a forward pass and was also going to call a double movement (neither would have been correct), would have brought Catalans to within 6 points. All I'm saying is, the decisions cost Catalans a lot more than they did you.

Sadly, I can see this thread and maybe a couple of others being locked shortly.
All it's boiling down to is the usual wa***rs whining because today didn't go according to the script they'd fooled themselves into expecting.
If anyone is seriously saying that Wigan weren't 200% the better side today, and that the referee was the difference, they are so stupid or warped, or both, that they're not even worth entertaining.

But, it was forward. (Just cause Wiggy said it didn't doesn't make it so, until the third camera angle when he agreed it was).
It was as forward as Lima's at Wembley.
Had it been a legitimate pass then I agree it wasn't a double movement.
Catalans got away with as much (if not more) than Wigan did tonight.
