Not that he doesn't deserve it, it's just a bit weird. And Carmont is one of the quiet guys, just gets on with his job without any fuss.

Agreed on everything, especially the Sam stuff. Was funny at Saints but its just getting boring now. Cheer like mad when George's name gets read out on Fri to show your appreciation of him re-signing, but a special standing ovation for him!!? come off it!

Yes a standing ovation for ordinarilly signing a new contract may be ridiculus but it depends upon the circumstances.

Was the reaction given to radlinski for turning down the union dollar and re-signing for wigan ridiculous?

Then why not a standing ovation for a player who has put back going home with his family at the request of the club and fans to help us out in a position where we'd otherwise be struggling?

Yeah booing Sam was funny for about 30 mins at the Hudds match, but it's a bit embarrassing now.
I agree with the people that say it's a bit much to do what the OP suggests. I think I big cheer when his name is read out will suffice.
