| Quote: FAXE LUCAS "i cant see there being a problem with the players backing up its just like Easter i think this idea is a really good concept i know how much i love S.O.O and this has the potential to be just as good def better than playing France or Wales no disrespect to thouse teams but if England are to improve we need tough games like this.
i understand why people want it as a stand alone fixture but for me this on friday night and cas on sunday with playing on a saturday will be one very good weekend of rugby league'"
I don't think the game needs a weekend made free to acommodate it, just put it on Wednesday. Those of us on this side of the mound have a better chance of getting to Headingley for 8pm. Plus, it gives greater recuperation time.

But he's Irish.
I do hope he can't play for Ireland in the next World Cup now.

| Id expect Sam, Pat and Mcilorum to start against Cas, with Lockers, Joel and Tommy on the bench. Cant see Carmont being in the 17.

Surely shome mishtake.
Although it does show what a duffer the coach is not to have a replacement already in the squad. The exiles are whittling their squad down, macca is still running around looking for players.
Any chance he will not play with Wilkin, Lockers and Sinfield

He's only English now he's good enough, see Danny Brough. He might even be Irish again when he isn't good enough anymore, see Barrie McDermott.
I find the chopping and changing of nationalities very amusing, especially as it is always draws a direct correlation to how good a player is.

| Quote: Coventry Warrior! "That goes without saying.
But why don't they drop the MM weekend and have this game on a weekend on its own. Instead of the clubs who bring through homegrown talent being punished by having to make up the talent for a league fixture 48 hours later.
I think luckily for us Castleford are in poor form anyway and could be missing Rangi Chase, but I'd rather none of our players played in this game and concentrated on the league game. England will get beaten anyway and made to look inept once again!'"
Spot on that mate. Why not move the England v Exiles game around. Play it on the May bank holiday weekend. Fans got time to get there. Also, doing it in areas where there may be alot of kiwis and aussies i.e London would be a great idea.

| Play it on the May Bank holiday weekend and scrap the magic games.
Make it an International festival,
England v France at U15 and U16 and U18.
England Knights v France
England v Exiles.
Maybe Army v Navy as well.

Just goes to prove Wigan is bigger than England!!
BTW, MM is English, it was a grandparent link that made him eligible for Ireland.

The annual Yawnion version of that is a massive event. Crowds anywhere from 40-60k. A League version marketed well could be a significant hit I think.

Wouldn't want us to give free tickets away to just ANYONE remotely connected to the armed forces though.
Help for Heroes offers should be continued but we aren't the RFU so we can't afford to handout upwards of 30,000 freebies for any game.
