123.jpg No trees were harmed during the creation of this post.
However, a number of electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

| But it must be obvious if even Steady and Heave-o are calling the decision ridiculous.
It was just so clear - The ball quite clearly hits the top of the knee, then the players arms move upward and the next sight of the ball is on top of the player.
Now unless someone changed either the properties of the ball, allowing it to elongate when squeezed like a stress-ball, or the laws of physics, then there is no way that it got within coo-ee of the turf.
To quote a certain Jim - "Benefit of the doubt...... My ärse."

| Difficult to call Ganson a cheat when he could have awarded the Eastmond try with nary a raised eyebrow.
In terms of the Moore 'try', my understanding of the benefit of the doubt rule is that unless the video shows a try [inot[/i being scored, it should be awarded. There was a second just as Moore crossed the line, with the ball close to the ground, where vision was obscured. It's possible it was grounded (although I don't believe it was).
Ganson probably made the correct call in respect of the ruling, however I accept that this interpretation hasn't been consistently applied.
Made no real difference though, we were sufficiently awful to give you mob a Saturday night boost!

4486_1428087820.png Newsnight 13th May 2010: "With the role of Deputy Prime Minister a non-job. Has Nick Clegg gone from King Maker to tea maker????"
I kept the faith and I kept voting
Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand
For theirs is a land with a wall around it
And mine is a faith in my fellow man
Theirs is a land of hope and glory
Mine is the green field and the factory floor
Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers
And mine is the peace we knew

I agree it is stupid that refs are now allowed to officiate in their home town's games each week if appointed to do so. I could understand them changing the rules in respect of cup finals as we used to have the situation where the (considered to be) best refs were often unable to officiate the big games like the Challenge Cup Final because the team from their home town dominated and usually reached them and in such important games you need the best official in charge.
In respect of finals I can see a need to have the best available ref regardless of where he is from but for ordinary league games there is no need to put a St Helens ref in Saints' game, or a Warrington ref in Warrington's game. We have enough referees to be able to avoid doing so for run of the mill games. Referees get enough stick without the authorities giving people more motives for criticising every decision.

| Didn't watch the game, but the result makes our game tommorow a very big opportunity. We should definitely be aiming to finish top now, and although there will still be plenty of time for us to be toppled, going 4 points clear over half way through the season would be a very good position to be in.

| How good was it to see Fozzard get done for leading with the arm FINALLY. It probably cost them the game aswell because up to that point the game was swinging in Saints favour then they scored after that penalty Well done Terry Albert
