| Quote: Bilko "I make it he needs 9 points tomorrow to reach 1,000 points in his Wigan career. That'll make him the 16th man in Wigan's 114 year history to reach the landmark.
Here's the full list
Jim Sullivan 4883 points
Andy Farrell 3135
Frano Botica 1931
Colin Tyrer 1890
Eric Ashton 1589
Billy Boston 1448
Fred Griffiths 1455
Jim Leytham 1308
George Fairbairn 1267
Johnny Thomas 1202
Ken Gee 1178
Brian Nordgren 1154
Shaun Edwards 1146
Ted Ward 1131
Johnny Ring 1102
(Jack Cunliffe) 997
(Pat Richards) 991
Not a bad list of players to join. Most of those mind you did it in the old 3 points per try era prior to 1982-83.
It will also be Stuart Fielden's 100th Wigan appearance.'"
Did any Wigan players reach the milestone prior to the inception of Rugby League? During the 'Rugby Football' years prior to RL?

Jim Sullivan was a 'points machine' by all accounts. My money would be on him.
Botica wasn't bad.

I very much doubt it. rlLook at the early years of "Northern Union"rl and most games struggled to get beyond 0-0. It was only when we abadoned rucks and mauls and all that malarky in 1906ish that the points started to flow.

| Ken Gee was a prop forward that didn't kick goals, such a record is truly phenominal. I remember in around 1948 there was a photo of him coming up out a the pit at noon and he turned out for GB against the Aussies at Wigan in the afternoon. In those days no substitutes so he would be on for the 80 minutes

Well I'm an amateur so I'd go with the BBC.

Well I don't think I've made a mistake but could have done in the long past.

Ken Gee was quite distinct in those days of rationing. He weighed over 18 stone. A brilliant player, says my old Dad.
