| I'm an avid rugby fan and can't see that ever changing, I did find my mind wandering during that game though. We seemed to be playing against ourselves a lot of the time.

A game lasting an hour and 50 minutes with zero intensity is killing the love of my sporting life.
I've already decided that IF we beat Salford I won't be going to Wembley. I've been to every CC final since 1970 where we have participated but I have no intention whatsoever in going this year.

| Quote: DaveO "I agree. The (too many) injuries have been masking the problem with coaching and tactics. Even with the injuries we should have won some of the close games we lost or drew and would have with some tactical nouse. Which would have put us well up there with a top 4 chance which is a bit of an indictment on the competition itself but nevertheless just highlights how poor we have been not to take advantage.
We need a coach who doesn't have mates in the team and a coach who can set the tactics according to what he has available player-wise and adjust things for how the game is going. We can't even decide if we should take two points for a penalty.
As to an answer to your first question, no you are not the only one who no longer enjoys watching this team. It's a chore and if nothing changes in the off season then renewing the season ticket is going to be a long hard decision.'"
Agree on the first and second point. Really struggle to say Wane out after the success he's had but it's not happening.
We need another Madge! Or drag Barrett away from Manly.... dreaming I know.

| You wouldn't think this Wigan team train together . They look like 17 lads who have just met for the first time . They do not run onto the ball , there is no support play , one man drives and drop offs are becoming both predictable and mundane, we are clueless in the opposition 20, kicking the ball when we have 3v2 on the 3rd tackle is criminal.
I could go on
Leeds will stick 40 up us next week

| It's difficult to know where to start with that, but to save a show like that for Lockers' 400th was verging on the criminal.
There is literally nothing good to say about what was shovelled on that pitch this evening.
Every single aspect of Wigan's play was awful-to-poor. Every player should hang his head in shame. We must have written a new book out there tonight: '101 Ways to Lose a Game that You've Never Previously Thought About'.
After a trying season for all kinds of reasons, that was the nadir. I feel totally dispirited at present, but what really bugs me is that we're up to the salary cap. What kind of money are some of those men earning? I hate to think what would have happened to me in my career if I'd been as bad at my job as some of them are.

| Quote: NickyKiss "We looked so slow and lacking in energy is beggered belief really. Even Bateman who still kept going until the very end and threw himself about looked leggy and missed a tackle he'd usually gobble up on Julian for their first try. I felt for Marshall who looked like he'd lost momentum and confidence from his spell out the team.
The other props should have a whip round for Tony Clubb tonight and pay for a relaxing couple of days away for him after he tried to carry them on his back! He's had a kidney removed two months back and still played with more energy and desire then any of the others. After picking up the last two weeks Nuuausala hit rock bottom tonight.'"
Yes, this, and most of what you guys have said too. Deeply dispiriting, and speaking as a first-time ST holder this season, I won't be looking forward to next season either unless there is some change at the club. FPN can eff off back to Australia as soon as he likes, but he's far from being the only problem. Only Tony Clubb can hold his head up after that performance. Feel for Lockers after all he has done for the club.

| Wire had a very strong side out, but they didn't need to be good to beat us, and they weren't.

| Up the middle rugby all night . We were outplayed up the middle all night so why not use our wingers who can score tries for fun. Neither hardly saw the ball all night. They have been our go to players all season but we ignored them last night.
We seem unable to count to six these days and are in a panic time after time as to who will take the clearing kick. Even forwards have been kicks in the last few week. Total lack of organisation.
Tony Clubb and Bateman get the only pass marks . I worry about Bateman , the lad dosent know when to quit but it is getting to the stage where we are going to have to manage him better for his own good. He ran his blood to water last night and towards the end was going into tackles at the end practically unable to defend himself. I worry he is going to injure himself though his own bravery how the coach didn't see that and spell him at the end is beyond me.
Oh for 12 players with Batemans and Tony Clubb's attitude every week.
Rant over lol .
Regards , EW

| Not much more to be said really. It was a very poor display all round. The only thing not said is that 5 days ago, the same group of players had a very attritional game in France and that could account for some of the lethargy we saw last night.... could!
Penalties are killing us week in and week out and that has to be down to coaching. Even at amateur level we used to get fined if the same player gave 2 penalties away in a game!
Any last lingering hopes of top 4 went up in smoke tonight and I just hope we can get it together for Salford.

| Williams has been anonymous since he got his large pay rise. Perhaps at the end of the season his contract needs to be re-negotiated downwards to take into account his lacklustre performances.

Unlike like some I thought the Catalan performance was ok against a very physical team and was hopeful of further improvement.
Last night just brought me back to earth with a bang.
I don't want to watch this tripe anymore.
Walking home last night I told my son I wasn't bothered about losing which is something I never I would say particularly against wire.
I don't want us to win against Salford playing this awful game of wrestling, zero in intensity and kick and hope.
This just isn't RL to me. I don't know what it is but it isn't RL.

Can't buy the short turn around. Just watch the players backing up from origin this weekend, I doubt they'll put in such a lacklustre performance (Bateman and Clubb excluded).

| Why ever did we not take the 2 easy kicks in the first half to get the extra 4 points it would have been 14 - 8 at half time instead of running the ball, plus why put a left sided winger on the right side when Davies is playing well wrong selection for me.

| They looked like they'd gone back to Lloret De Mar after the game on Saturday and stayed there until last night!
This isn't an excuse for a shambolic display but that pitch is a disgrace. It killed both teams energy last night with big lumps cutting up all over the place. Unfortunately though we can't manage our own game sufficiently to stand a chance. We don't have a proper halfback who can manage a game and as the weeks go by we're seeing more and more players hoofing the ball on the last tackle. It isn't Tommy Leuluai's fault that he's been signed to play in the halves but there's no doubt there couldn't be a worse partner for George Williams. They're both off the cuff players and it is murdering us.

I sense Davies will be the first name on the sheet next week. The lads a workaholic and with a powder puff set of props like ours (Clubb aside) he's needed to get us away from our line. Marshall and Burgess had shockers last night and don't work hard enough. I suppose you could say why should they have to as the forwards should be doing the graft taking the ball up but whilst we play the way we do, those lads need to work harder.
