| Shaun Wane knows Josh Charnley better than the majority on here having coached him for the majority of his career, he obviously thinks a kick up the backside will help get him back to his best and hopefully he is right

And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.'

| To be fair to Charnley, I thought he looked a lot more interested last week and had his best game in a while (especially up against WBW ).
Hopefully scoring last week will have given him a confidence boost and we'll see the same kind of display this week.

A bit off topic but the WBW that is Ryan Hall has to be the ultimate (really) big game player! I do believe he is the best and that's because in finals and internationals he always seems to come up with the goods but in the week to week superleague games he always seems to drift a little as though the games don't mean enough.
It'll be a total waste of his talent if he doesn't have a crack at the NRL (which I doubt he will).

| WBW? Better than Tuivasa-Sheck, Morris, Korobeite, Nightingale, Radradra, etc etc? Ridiculous, in my book. Hall is a good player, but probably not even the best winger in SL.

A fair assessment, I also think he is the best around right now and would love to see him have a crack at the NRL. If we had 12 English players of similar quality to go with him, Roby, Graham, G.Burgess and Hill we would walk the internationals

| Charnley has never looked anything like his earlier form since he added that last eight or ten pounds to his frame. Watching him now is like watching those astronauts struggling to walk in simulated high-gravity. Maybe this is his optimum size and frame - but I'm not sure it's doing his speed, acceleration or agility any favours.

I actually think he's clearly better than the names you've mentioned. His all round game is superb, just because he doesn't play in the NRL doesn't mean he's not the best.
Take a look at origin, QLD played 2 fullbacks on the wings and NSW play a former winger now FB and a centre on the other.

| We'll have to agree to differ, then.
Not sure how many of the names I mentioned are eligible for Origin anyway. Like, I suspect, many over here, I find the arcane rules about eligibility (and the fact that they seem to coolly ignored when it suits them), and the humourless obsessiveness with which is is followed a big turn-off.

I'd say RTS and Brett Morris are better than him (though both play fullback at club level), and I think Burgess will surpass him in the next two years...though again, he may be moved to fullback for the Roosters briefly, depending on whether Latrell Mitchell is ready at the start of next season - he only turned 18 a month ago, but is absolute class.
My opinion on the Origin thing is because Aussies seem to view the wing with less importance than we do. Once a player is used to playing first grade, and is a dangerous player, you don't get enough opportunities on the wing, whereas if you can move them to fullback, they'll be involved a lot more. It's not that QLD and NSW are having to pick players (truly) out of position because there's such a lack of good wingers, it's that most of the best wingers have been moved to more pivotal positions.

Burgess. Per match him and Hall are pretty similar for metres, clean breaks and tackle busts, Burgess does better in average gain per carry, has loads more try assists, less missed tackles, less penalties and more tries. He has made more errors than Hall though. Burgess is probably better in the air too.
